The selling Tajmahal scene was legit fun.😆

I love the play with the words in that scene.

The buyer: I can’t believe someone is selling the Tajmahal...

Abhi/Bunty:  I also can’t believe that someone is ‘actually’ buying it.🤣

Rani looks awesome, Saif looks fine but looks a bit urban for this role I feel. Bunty was more desi.

I agree, Saif has never been able to play village or poor roles. Which is something Kajol likes to claim about herself, and how audiences never buy her as the poor girl because she exudes "richness," although I do not know who is buying that.

I so wish there was Hum Tum part 2 as well.

The ending of that movie, plus the cartoon characters, makes it seem like prime material for a sequel. With luck, if this movie is successful enough it can show there is an audience nostalgia for 2000s classics and Hum Tum 2 can be greenlighted.

I mentioned Salaam Namaste 2 in another thread as well.

Look at Rani and all her contemporaries and you will see that the actresses from that era were much more versatile. They could convincingly play glamor girls but also the village belles and the bubbly heroines. I am glad Rani is reminding us of what Bollywood used to be like and how it can still be that way.

Oh man, this thread is making me nostalgic. I still remember coming out of Salaam Namaste and cracking up at all the jokes. Especially the infamous “eggjactly”.😆

These movies also had such GREAT soundtracks. Major nostalgia!
