Aww. This is definitely different from your other stories. I am loving this compassionate Shiva. Raavi's heartbreak was expected, but it broke my heart reading about Shiva's condition and how he was effected. Glad he didn't shy away from expressing his feelings. Look forward to her coming back to her old self!
This was so heartbreaking.đ Poor raavi.she is so broken.shiva is getting affected by her, he broke down in from of dhara.he will surely do something to elicit a reaction from her. Can't wait to read what happens nextâĽď¸
Part 2
âAe Kumbhkaran ki behen. Uth jaa.â Shiva shouted.
Raavi was rudely awoken by his shout. She opened her eyes and Shiva opened up the curtains making her wince. She closed her eyes and turned to the other side. Shiva came and pulled her up making her sit. Raavi thought she had dreamt of Shiva yesterday, but seeing him now made her realise it hadnât been a dream at all. She saw him bringing a bowl of cornflakes and putting it in front of her.
âChhe mahine sone ki baari khatam, aur chhe mahine khane ki baari shuru.â
Raavi didnât react. Sheâd rather been sleeping. No, sheâd rather be dead. Her life wasnât worth living and the reason she was alive was sitting before her. He hated her so why didnât he just let her die? Raavi closed her eyes and leaned back against her bed.
âMujhse khilaya nahi jayega. Khud khaa.â Shiva said.
Raavi opened her eyes and looked at Shiva. He was glaring at her almost in a mocking way. For the first time in three days she actually felt something. An emotion bubbled up within her. It was anger. Even though she was exhausted to express it, she couldnât stop herself. She pushed him. It barely did anything to him, but the bowl fell down and broke into pieces. She hadnât eaten in three days and had no energy. He held her hand as she tried again. She looked frail and he didnât want her to hurt herself.
âTune mujhe kyu bachaya?â She asked.
These three days, Raavi had tried to block out all her feelings and bury them. Her voice felt hoarse and different now that she had spoken. It strangely opened up all the emotions she had blocked inside, and she felt herself getting crushed under its weight. It pained her so much. She had done her best to avoid it, but it came crashing down on her that second and she began to cry. Tears flowed from her eyes and Raavi just wanted it all to stop. It hurt too much.
âMujhe marr jane kyu nahi diya? Mujhse yeh ab bardasht nahi hota.â She cried.
Her outburst brought everyone in the room. Anita came and hugged her tightly. Raavi just cried in her arms. After a while she pushed Anita away and tried to get up. Her strength failed her and she almost fell, but Shiva held her. She began to hit him again and again. He was the reason she was alive. Shiva just held her and let her hit him. She was exhausted in a minute so she stopped. Raavi felt Shiva pick her up and put her back on the bed. He kept a pillow against her back so she could sit up. Raavi was too exhausted to fight out cry anymore so she leaned against Anita who was sitting beside her. She closed her eyes hoping that sleep would take her in so she wouldnât have to feel this pain anymore, but it didnât.
âShiva tu jaa. Meri bachhi ko pareshan mat kar.â Prafulla said.
Shiva just glared at her. Raavi saw him exchanging a look with her Mausapa who took Prafulla and left. Anita turned to leave too. Shiva bent down and began picking up the pieces of the bowl which Raavi had knocked down and broken. Raavi looked at him picking up every piece carefully and throwing them in the dustbin. Then he took a cloth and cleaned up the floor. Raavi wondered why he was actually here. She was feeling somewhat calmer so she decided to lay down again, and observe him. He went outside and Raavi felt alone. She hadnât been alone for even one moment ever since that day. Someone or the other was always with her so she wouldnât try to kill herself again. But right now, she felt too exhausted to even do that.
After about ten minutes, Shiva came in again. This time with a plate. Shiva kept the plate aside and made her sit up again. She was getting a little annoyed with him. He brought the plate and kept it before her.
âTeri woh Maasi zabardasti cornflakes bheji mere haathon. Mujhe pata hai tujhe cornflakes bilkul pasand nahi. Isliye maine pehle se hi Dhara bhabhi ko bolke teri favourite puri sabji banwayi. Chal ab jaldi khaa le.â Shiva said.
Raavi didnât want to eat. She made no move to touch the food. Shiva sighed loudly and took the plate himself. He took a bite of the food and Raavi was surprised. He was eating her food. What kind of a man was he? Raavi watched him as he gobbled up one puri right before her eyes. Then he smirked at her.
âAb bhabhi ka khana waste kaise kar sakte hai?â He grinned. He held out one morsel before her mouth. âLast chance. Kha ya phir main pura kha jaunga.â
âJangli bhalu se aur kya ummeed kar sakte hai.â Raavi retorted.
She saw Shivaâs eyes spark up. He touched the morsel to her lips and she opened her mouth automatically. It was delicious. He fed her two puris and Raavi kept gobbling it up. When she had finished, she began to feel her tears coming back. They rushed out with so much force that she couldnât stop them. Shiva kept the plate aside and sat in front of her. She clutched his shirt tightly and laid her forehead on his shoulder. Her tears were immediately soaked up in his shirt. She felt his hand on the back of her head, his fingers running through her hair, and she began to feel a sense of calm. Closing her eyes, she fell asleep.
***
When Raavi woke up, Shiva was gone. She slowly got up and found Dhara sitting beside her. Dhara smiled at Raavi looked at her. She looked around the room to see if Shiva was there, lurking around in a corner somewhere but there was no trace of him. For the first time today she woke up without a heavy heart. It felt normal and her focus was much clearer.
âRaavi, tu ab thik hai?â Dhara asked.
Raavi nodded. Dhara cupped her face and kissed her forehead. Anita came in the room and sat beside Raavi. She came with a glass of milk, and asked Raavi to drink it. Raavi took it and began to sip it slowly. Anita and Dhara were more than happy to see her drinking something. Raaviâs legs were beginning to feel cramped so she got up and walked around the room. Dhara asked her if she would like to go outside for a walk. Raavi shook her head. She finally sat down, and suddenly Devâs rejection hit her again, and she made fists out of her hand, digging her nails deep into her skin. It was all coming back again.
This time there were no tears. Just the pain. She sat down in one corner holding her knees and trying to curl up in a ball. Making herself as small as possible, Raavi wished to disappear from this world. On top of her grief, she began to feel embarrassed. She had told everyone in Somnath that she was going to marry Dev, and he simply rejected her for another girl. How stupid could she have been? She fought with her Maasi, with Shiva, convinced Dhara to get her married to Dev, and all this while he had been in love with another girl. Everyone must be laughing at her.
Raavi was pulled into a hug and she realised it was Dhara. Her tears began to fall again. She couldnât live like this. Every moment was too painful. It would be better to die than to live like this. Every breath was a struggle.
âMujhse nahi ho raha.â She cried.
âSab kuch thik ho jayega Raavi. Bharosa rakh..â Dhara said.
Raavi just kept crying. She felt like the worldâs biggest fool. Her biggest dream of becoming Devâs wife and Pandya familyâs daughter-in-law shattered in one second. She had lost all her faith now, and there was no way she could gain it back again. The emptiness of life begun to haunt her. She pushed back Dhara and went to her bed for another nap.
âYeh Shiva ne tere liye bheja hai.â Dhara said.
Raavi sat back up and saw that it was a chocolate Dhara kept on her night stand. It was her favourite chocolate. Raavi stopped crying and her lips almost curled up into a smile. Dhara had to leave, so she kissed Raaviâs forehead once more and left. Anita remained with her. Raavi turned the other way and closed her eyes. She really wanted to be alone. That night again, she didnât have any dinner, but she ate the entire chocolate.
This is so touchingly beautiful! Glad to see Raavi slowly and steadily coming back to life due to Shiva â¤ď¸
