Are we really going to compare ssr to Gandhi and Nehru now like seriously!!!??!!!!

gandhi left his super rich lawyer profession and luxury life in london and south africa and spent 30 years getting hit by British police and going to jail - watch gandhi movie

we are enjoying this freedom thanks to gandhi, nehru, patel, bhagat singh, lala lajpur rai and bose etc lets not compare them to anyone else

yes many others do not truly deserve all those names on various places

i am surprised at delhi road names all emperors - even that brute aurangzeb

IMO He was decent actor who usually picked very good roles and amongst his peer group was definitely above average. I don't mind him getting the benefit of doubt because he was an outsider either, because obviously his struggle would be at a different level as compared to the Bollywood kids, for many of whom this would be a walk in the park as long as they DIET and look good (and there too, they have a lot of help an support).

It does level the playing field to an extent and I am all for it.

What I have a problem with is various agencies using his death and his name to their political advantage, and people (esp his fans) getting carried away blindly by such empty gestures. It is so obvious that the Bihar govt with this help of his family made him into a election agenda. This move of naming an award after him (if true) is on the same lines. It is not going to do anything for the real strugglers or for mental health, which are the main issues

You bring up a great point.... good one. I would love to have people arguing for meritocracy in this thread argue for the same when it comes to legacy kids. But hey ... we all know that ain't happening! *winks*

But that surely won't be discussed like this Circus is.. Like I have previously mentioned people here are just looking for some fun so they can have an excuse to mock him.. Believe me, have been seeing this pattern for quite sometime on this forum.

Oh, absolutely ... some people are very easy to read, there's no guesswork required on why they post what they do at all. Even this thread was started purely for shits and giggles ... over an article with no factual basis to stand on. Just a penny for your thoughts there. ;)

Scholarship plans don't entertain people, so of course, why would they talk about it. People are interested in the circus either way ...I am also willing to bet my last dollar that those crying foul about this award don't give two **'s about meritocracy that they're clutching so tightly.

"Yes, they are planning to instate a National film award named after Sushant Singh Rajput. The proposal has been put forth. But then as we all know bureaucracy and politics are slow movers. It's taking time to push the idea forward. But we will get there, I am sure," the insider told Bollywood Hungama.

So basically it is another rumor with no verified source.
