Sirf "Like" hai, Love nahin hai

Good to see the show back from break, and despite the gap of three months, I found the show still sticking to the core storyline, so that is heartening for now.

Shravan's dreams are as colorful as ever😆.....ofcourse he would imagine a dream where Sumo is lattu over him and is oh so affectionate towards him, but even in his dreams, he seems to be braced for the family rejecting him for being irresponsible😆

Is "Nazm Nazm" supposed to be Shravan ka majnu mode background score for now?😆

In terms of the families, they provided a refresher on the civilians v/s army ideological conflict which I think was a good call in terms of reminding the audience of one of the core story points here.....Daadu has always been khadoos, so no surprise to see him over-reacting about intermingling with civilians. I guess there have been some casting changes, but I couldn't tell😆....the new actors cast for Sumo's mom and Shravan's chachu still seem to fit in pretty seamlessly with the cast.

They provided some continuity with showing Col Tiwari recovering from his injury and looking to get back to work....and the continuing tension between him and Shravan's dad over the business deal.

In terms of Shravan-Sumo....lol where we'd last left the story, Shravan was hung up on "impression jamaana" on Suman and trying to figure out if she cares for him.....now they've picked it up from a point where Shravan seems to have graduated to calling it "love".....then instantly backtracking again when Bunty throws a fit and quickly changing it to "Sirf LIKE hai, love nahin hai, mere bhai"😆. So it's safe to say, he's still a confused teenager. LOL.....unless some magical "deep" realization happened during the lockdown....but his dreams are still goofy, so I somehow doubt that😆

Sumo also seems more or less in the same mode....considering him an idiot, but willing to laugh at his antics....she stopped freezing him out completely😆. Last episode before the lockdown had her softening a bit towards Shravan, seeing him show some courage in trying to own up to his mistakes....so I guess they are back in that friendship zone again but maybe not fully to the level where she trusts him as much as she did before the party fiasco.

It's a good interlude they've put in with vacations to study for exams....still leaves scope to develop the story and characters even if they had to make some adjustments for whenever the Army track will happen.

Overall I enjoyed the episode and all in all, given the tough spot the makers must be in, they've still managed pretty well....the core of the show is maintained....the Bhopal location hasn't been changed (that's the one I was most wary about), the character dynamics are still more or less in the same zone with scope to grow from here.

So let's see how it goes.

P.S. the biggest shift seems to be that of Kanchan - she was legit hating on him before the lockdown cuz of that party fiasco and now she's also been fully reverted back to original Kanchan who was oh so impressed by Shravan😆

Can't say I mind much cuz she was going overboard in her "I want revenge" streak after the party 😆

Yay! Missed you and your analysis!

So, Shravan has been lattu over Suman so it is interesting to see how he accepted his love for her although in front of Bunty, he joked that it was only like, not exactly love.

I disagree a bit about Daadu being kadoos because he was more laxed towards civilians in episodes before the pandemic began. Yeah, sure there were times he would make comments but I don't think he was that outright negative unless an incident occurred that might've strained their relationship. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so negative about somebody else's family getting married to a civilian. Kanchan even commented about how they have been restricted towards marrying civilians.

About Suman softening towards Shravan, she still seemed somewhat baffled about whether he'll be able to donate the blood or not to prove his bravery. So, it would be interesting as to how she forgave him. I mean, Shravan did mention that she considered him a friend in a FB and even had her drawing book to be returned.

I would still give more time and episodes to explain so many questions that might arise because important tracks have been scrapped. Even if they plan to scrap those tracks such as the parade/play and blood donation scene, at least mentioning the aftermath in a small FB scene or something can pave the way for the audience to understand the backstory. Even Daadu's disdain for civilians should be explained because I was confused when Ramesh told Kavita to not discuss about this topic.

I think Kanchan forgave him during the time Shravan was serving food in the canteen. Even Suman compared her heart to a cheap candle.

To be honest, I don't remember much other than Daadu always passing sharp comments against Shravan but there have definitely been moments where his prejudice against civilians came through like it happened with the "glass" incident with Devraj in the FBs shown. So to me, it's not really that glaring a shift if Daadu is shown being anti-civilian....this conflict is expected eventually anyways. I think the makers were just trying to redraw the boundary lines again and re-establish what will be the fundamental conflict between the two families.....the prejudice isn't new....it will boil over at some point.

Yes, it would be good if they show a FB of how exactly Sumo properly "forgave" Shravan for the party fiasco but TBH, I'm fine even without that for now😆.....they anyways have to build a lot in their relationship even now....cuz the main hurdle for Shravan was anyways going to be the fact that she had "friend-zoned" him a while back only....how they evolve from that has potential for good scenes....the "time and space" angle from the promos is the one that I'm finding promising.

Maybe they decided that it's been so long since the party fiasco, there is no point digging into the drama around it again and it would be easier to juxtapose Shravan-Sumo ki evolving relationship alongside the parental conflict.....otherwise it would have been conflict on all fronts as a "reboot" after the lockdown and that may have been harder to catch people up on. With the time slot change, they are anyways looking to start afresh in some ways😆

I'm happy enough that the set locations and basic characterizations didn't change.....many other GEC shows have come back with absolute trash storylines so compared to that, I think EDKV2 still did a good job.

Oh she did? LOL wow I guess I forgot that scene....😆....but chalo jaise bhi hua, good to see the old Kanchan back.

On the "love" front, I wasn't really clear about what Bunty was upset about and what Shravan was trying to pacify him over😆.....was it that Bunty thought Shravan-Sumo were already BF-GF and didn't tell him, so Shravan clarified to him that it's still one-sided for now and Sumo only LIKES him, doesn't LOVE him yet?😆

The other funny bit was Shravan calling Sumo a "Cute Gudiya" and Bunty sarcastically saying, "Aur tum toh cute gudde ho"😆

It would be good if they can give some context on how Shravan came to have that drawing book....chalo let's see.

Welcome back AY! Out on a little forum stroll, tossing on the bed😆

My initial thoughts were a bit meh but into the epi they had me in. Yes a certain discrepancies are there and we don't know if we're gonna get the holes closed but that's fine as to nothing major had had happened.

Suman agreeing and being in sync with Shravan was expected since some 2 odd months have passed in the (lockdown ) story period (Jan to Summer). She wouldn't have stayed mad at him for that long obviously😆 Like Meena said perhaps a FB would be good to back it up.

Daadu seemed the most off to me. Hating civilians to not attending a wedding for the reason is a change I feel🤔 But I think you're right. They're trying to reiterate their original borders which the audience may or may not have forgotten. He had given some soft treatment to Shravan in the epis prior to the pause (asking Damru to get chai for him). So perhaps leading to our conclusion of him beginning to find him less irritating.

As far as Kancha goes, I feel she has always been dal badlu😆 I think she was back to being her latoo self at the canteen seq but was mad at Suman for accepting the gift😆

Overall good like you said. The cinematography seemed good/better too. Don't follow any other show. So got my fingers crossed😃

IDK if Kanchan forgave him by saying it verbally but I can presume she might've forgiven him after seeing the behavior change for real, unlike Suman who still didn't trust him and his bravery. Even I was perplexed about Bunty questioning him as he suggested to Shravan to get married to her instead of asking her out. 🤣Yeah, new nicknames have arrived but how did the drawing book land up at his home? That is so confusing. 😆

^I think it might've been for fun because Bunty always commented that Shravan chose a girl (whether Sumo or Mele Babu ki Baby🤣) over him such as bike rides, etc. While I do somewhat agree with Bunty to not lose control over himself amidst falling in love with Suman.
