If Kabir Singh's character belonged to an oppressed marginalized community, the same people who hailed the character and film would have disliked it and rightfully criticize his exploitation of women, attempt of sexual abuse, stalking, misuse of power, body-shaming actions etc. But, that's not the case so many brown men INSTEAD JUSTIFIED HIS DESPICABLE ACTIONS AND BEHAVIOR AS him being a SOCIETY HATING POOR  LOVESICK TORTURED GUY.

Then just add some sad passionate love songs, voila the guy has rights on the woman even against her will. "Look at this passionate lover, the girl did him so wrong". "The girl is so lucky that this handsome guy is stalking her". "He is willing to go to any extent to claim that girl".

Then the biggest catch for the guy as already mentioned in the thread "being very good in Academics/Sports" especially academics in India. However terrible the man's actions are against the women, if the guy is brilliant in STEM majors(doctor, engineer etc.), he faces no repercussions in the minds of the people. Isko Sab Chalta Hai, "There must be external factors for this tortured guy's despicable actions; otherwise he could not do it. So we should not held him accountable."

P.S. Yes I am an angry feminist who has seen men like kabir singh get way with horrible things in her surroundings in real life. It's not like we do not hear about men harrasing and killing women who don't give in to his advances, proposals and who reject his "sachha pyaar" on a daily basis in the country😵. When such things are romanticized and normalized in the real life societies and settings in the film with real like characteristics, then it's no longer only limited to cinema. The people in society is then shaped by it.
