Chapter 23 - Last chapter
It had been more than a month since the eventful Sunday. Kathir had moved into Durai's apartment temporarily. His received several job offers from very good companies, but Kathir chose to work as a working partner in his best friends startup. Uma was continuing her work at Charu enterprises, she had grown closer to ABhi and was even able to tone down her anger towards RK family though not all of it. CHaru was very happy for the effect Uma was having on Abirami and thanked God for blessing her daughter with a good friend. She believed ABhi would change one day….for good.
Priya's dad had been busy making arrangement for the twin marriage. He received all the support from RK's family and especially SHanthi and Kathik. They had taken care of most of the arrangements. His biggest challenge though was inviting Uma;s parents, he promised to buy them their tickets and take care of their expenses and they instantly agreed. Uma was eagerly waiting for Deepak, he was the only blood relation she adored…
Durai was ecstatic, his parents were no less happy. They had liked Priya from the very beginning and knew she would be the best match for Durai. They often caught Durai smiling to himself…Durai would often think of the moments priya teased him and how he teased priya…and it would bring a smile on his face. He still had to work on his short temper…something that made priya snort at him. But Durai liked the cuteness in her especially when she was angry.
Kathir was settling in his job. He was clever and quick minded and was a great asset to the company. He had found a 3 bedroom apartment in Adyar and had planned to move in with uncle and uma after their marriage. Uncle had other plans though..he had been wanting to go back to the village for a while to settle few issues.
Priya had recently received a promotion and was moving higher up the ladder in her management. She was looking forward to her marriage and she and DUrai had also started furnishing the apartment. Her and Durai;s tastes were totally different, but what was nice was the way they gave up for each other. There shared many intimate moments to make up for their 3 year separation.
Wedding Reception
The wedding was held in a temple with simplicity. Both the brides were glowing with happiness, the grooms were no less. The reception was arranged in a well decorated Mahal. The hall was flooding with friends , relatives and colleagues to congratulate the couple. Uma and Priya looked simply gorgeous in their bridal ourfits. Kadhir and DUrai looked very smart in their suits. SUmathi had managed to convince her husband and she was present. Kadhir was sad that his dad didn't make it, but was more than glad to have his mom next to him.
RK and Raji were one of the first to arrive followed by Madan and Rohini. Kathik, Shanthi and her mama had been there all along to help out for tha arrangements. Shyam and Uma had a baby daughter now. Ramya had had her second child and she came in with her husband and mother-in-law. Srinivasan was conspicuous by his absence. Arjun and Anitha were there with their two adopted kids and arjun's parents. They were one happy family. Dinesh was out of the country on business, Swathi and mother-in-law came with sawthi's child. Charu and some of her employees had come, Charu gifted both the brides with diamond necklaces true to her status.
Uma's parents were also there and they seemed quite detached from the crowd. Though this made Uma unhappy, she quickly came out of the sadness thanks to the jokes and teasing going around her. She didn't fail to notice the secret stares of Kadhir and she reciprocated appropriately. The music of Lakshman Sruthi was filling the air, many kids were dancing….and playing.
A car speedily pulled up in front of the mahal almost hitting the car parked in front. Abirami got out of the second car worriedly looking at what had happened , she had been driving…From the first car a young man ….probably he had just reached 30….descended yelling at abirami…it was Deepak! Yemma, veetla soltu vanthuttiya, kannu …kannu theriyala….his words slowed down as he came to face Abirami….well she certainly looked older than him, but beautiful…enna thala mudippa…..namma prachanikku vazhi kedachuduthu pola irukke…he was ogling her with his eyes. He was down from Bombay to attend his best sisters wedding. He was tired of life…he wanted to marry a rich woman and make her and himself happy…..Abirami on the other hand stood stunned…..he looked at the fearless guy….hmm, he was smart…but konjam young…seems to be nice though…yaarunnu kandupidikkalam…..she stopped her mom;s driver who tried to come to her rescue…she softly looked at Deepak…sorry sir, etho theriyama idichitten…friendoda kalyanam…late ayiduchennu tension…athaan…Deepak totally fell for this..its ok Ma'm…friendoda kalyanama…umakittayum priyakitayum ketkanum….
Vaanga, naaanum ponnu veetukkaran thaan…….he led her towards his sister….all the whole eying her with his flirtatious look. He didn't fail to notice RK uncle's family giving ashtonished looks at them…but he didn't care…
Hi uma, kathir..congratulations! she hugged Uma and handed her gift…she came to Durai;s side and congratulated priya and Durai…with a half smile and went back to to talk to Uma. Yaaru athu….Deepak whispered in Durai's ears…athuva....Abhirami…atho nikrangale CHaru madam avanga ponnu thaan, Durai whispered back….Yen neenga try panna poreengala…Priya smiled at Deepak. Panlamnu thaan thonuthu.,….neenga enna nenaikareenga…..Deepak was smiling now.
He walked up to Abirami…vaanga Abirami saapidalm, he told with an urgency to whisk her away, illa call me Abhi ….abhi replied with a smile. Uma looked puzzled at Deepak's flirtatious behaviour….and even more flirtation abirami;s response , before she could even open her mouth….Deepak and Abi had away together… set paniiduvannu nenaikaren…abiramiyave set panna poran un thambi, Kathir was whispering in her ears.
Now they were all ready for family pictures…..The two couples were shot with each family….the photo session was very lively with comments and jokes and banters….but two people had no idea what was going on in hall. In the dining hall….abirami and Deepak were totally enjoying themselves…..forgetting the difference in their age…CHaru was watching all this….etho kutharkama yosikkama…..nalla iruntha sari….she thought to herself. Ivanavathu abiramiya maathina sari! Abirami Deepak onnu seruvangala…..Lets wait and see!
