when Sanjivni became Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Iam a silent reader of this forum. Last few weeks of Sanjivani was disappointing so im here to post my rant please bear with me.

i loved the inital episodes of Sanjivani. It started off really well. To be honest i havent watched the previous season of Sanjivani or Dmg. so initally when the show started it was enduring to me. i personally liked all the characters. In fact though i knew that SidSha story was rushed i was ok with it. There nok-jok along with medical blend was good. but now over past few weeks i stopped watching this show. Thats exactly when Jesicca track started. i was happy that they tried to show the plight of a cancer patient but marriage in a hospital where lot of patients are admitted and time - to - time emergency situation is what made no sense. i heard even in previous season there was same senario where they got some couple married, i dont know about previous season but this season the over dramatic mehndi, sangeet, marriage in hospital made no sense! Hospital ko shadi ka mandap bana diya hai!

plus more disappointing was the character arc of the leads. i loved Sid and Ishani's characters because their roles of doctor was well suited. but ever since dr. Ishani fell in love she is roaming like love stick puppy behind Dr. Sid. i personally loved smart, confidant and intelligent Dr. Ishani and i miss that personality of hers. plus she is shown too much weakness where she was a very confidant women and a doctor.

And coming to Dr. Sid, i really liked his personality/ his character where he becomes Robin hood for poor. And he is also an intelligent Dr. but know i dono how did he suddenly fell in love with Dr. Ishani and where did his tragic past pop up!

In both the cases what felt is Both Dr. Sid and Dr. Ishani is ignoring their responsibility/ roles as a doctor. but they are not to be blamed but to blame only the writers. Trp hunger stuck the penury writers they brought in a sas-bahu saga writer from yrkkh and gave two dramatic shaadi week and out of the characters Sid and Ishani. where suddenly Sid is having a fiance in the past! duh!

All i wanted to remind the writers and the others realted to show is this is a youth based show and not a sas- bahu saga and defenitly not Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Medical aspect was the greatest plus point of this show. Because it's rare to find medical shows in itv . But this trp hungry channel made it in to love saga of young middle aged and old aged pairs .

Though I was eager to know about sid 's past but now I really misses that happy smiling naughty faced Dr Sid and his germphobic Ishani .

I agree with you. I liked Sid and Ishanis characters. They had so much potential and they screwed their story line big time by bringing in the Loveria track! You don't fall in Love overnight which is what happened to Ishani and Sid. Nobody can relate to them and Sid's past really did pop out of no where because his equation with Ishani would have changed in the beginning itself if there really had been such a past! It's the writers to blame. I wish it was telecasted on a different channel with focus on the medical drama like in the initial episodes. The trp race on star is too much, they are really ruthless when it comes to trps and they are just screwing the story more and more by introducing these new story lines which don't make any sense whatsoever!

Its such a pity if they stop this show because the theme atleast was good, atleast gives us a break from the saas bahu dramas! I don't understand why trp is the indicator of the shows success because most of the shows with high trps have very shitty story lines! I wish this was telecasted on sony instead of the idiotic star tv which has no sense of good content!

Sanjivani1, has been an iconic path breaking show, probably a first to explore the different genre, since it commenced with zero expectations the ceiling it touched during its run was a crown at the podium, with extremely talented team ,off & onscreen that seized & secured audience attention with (most parts) relatively comparable trials and tribulations that personally and professionally a doctor faces & how he gets tested and eventually triumphs over ( DMG was youth centric rom-com spinoff where the USP was on the chemistry & tone was lighter & it aced & delivered what it intended )

With S2 there was always weight of expectations, especially since there were retained members of S1 ( which is a huge plus) & intial promotions around the quintessential whistle tune & memories it brings back,the unloading of past is complicated as strong emotions firmly hold memories & unpacking it means carefully dusting & then either to craftly hide some in closet or put proudly on display for all to see, while replaying out & rearranging.

There has been an audacious start from business POV- not giving/ getting the correct airing hour, 7: 30 pm ,it doesn't blend well with the kind of audience they were aiming at, also intial TRP was not what they were expecting resulted in early (unnecessary) alarm, edict & alterations, not only did the genre but it's treatment tone to journey & layers of characters went through detour resulting a single dimension that stagnated character's arc & suspended a lot,when flow is not fluid & consistency gets convoluted abruptly, the audience gets confused with imbecilic inbetween, the innards cannot be ignored, the enormous footsteps are challenging to follow with mindful intelligent treading, so as to not tread on the nostalgic memories for those who had followed the earlier season (s) also, to stay sincere with the newer set of audience that got involved with intial tone of S2, unfortunately, in the race for TRP( most likely channel's decree) both makers & audience are losing
