In those days a lot of importance was given to caste and social status and Salim had so many concubines in his life so among all of them what made Salim choose Anarkali .Hope upcoming episodes can answer my question

Not sure if I am able to convey my thoughts correctly.

This is definitely a good point here. And it is also one of the areas where I do think that makers have taken some substantial creative liberties. I say that bcos, a kaneez being give such free access to all areas of the Mahal seemed kinda off for me.

But that said, I do think that the love confession this early needs to come in cos the actual story starts off from this point, in the writers' imagination. Like you said, future episodes will give a clearer picture, I think.

That said, I found the clothes washing bit truly hilarious yesterday. It was quite OTT for me, But Sonarika 's understated acting really was a saving grace there. Thank goodness she is such a good actress.

Did not quite come to terms with friendship turned to love saga ..unconvincing if I take the names Salim and Anarkali. Convincing may be if it is X,Y or Z. The villainy Of Salim's Brothers goaded by Rukhaiya became predictable and intruding into the still to be unveiled love story. It is causing hindrance by dominating the episode ..It is more like an Ekta Kapur show.

The makers just did not give ample scope for the love story to develop in a natural way. And Salim raising hand on Akbar...,what did the makers want to show? That Akbar's son had least respect for his father! Is this what the great Mansingh taught Salim..? To have feelings only for his childhood friend and disrespect for every one else?

I regret Shaheer's choice this time. What made you agree to this not at all worth doing role Shaheer?

Ha ha

This story looks like some rich brat of 21st century than 15th century

Anarkali washing clothes reminded me of old hindi movies where daughter in law would be troubled my mom in law by making wash loads of clothes

Is anarkali a dancer or maid? Raksas is dancer whys she doing maids job?

And Salim raising fist to Akbar - thats too gross even by 21st century

For Gods sake Akbar is emperor atleast show him that respect if not fathers???

If real salim behaved so Akbar would have him whipped and jailed

Nitu, a while ago I watched this Turkish serial Cesar ve Guzel(Brave and Beautiful). In that, the female lead is the daughter of a very powerful man of the town. Everyone in the town both hate and fear him. And she knows that. But she loves him. The male lead is also one of the people who hate her father. But when he rescues her from her horse which goes rogue and is almost killed, she develops feelings for him. She knows that he hates her father, yet starts to love him. She has a friend who is her secret keeper. And the friend says that there is something about the person who saves your life. He/she becomes your "hero". You cannot stop your heart from developing feelings for that person.

Here Saifu/Anarkali is first saved by Salim in that desert when she thought she was going to die. In that desert neither Jillan nor Saifu had any prospects regarding their future and were only filled with fear. Meeting Salim and Jodha gave them that protection that they needed at that time. They both experienced kindness and from Salim and Jodha. Salim started with naming her as his "friend". He is shown to treat her with respect and sort of his equal, like how he treats Mahabhat. As a child he had 3 kids who were about the same age as him around him. Of them, Daniyal and Murad were trying to harm him, while Anar was trying to protect him. So for Salim, she was his "protecter", his "friend". He never saw her as anything other than that.

When he is forced to leave Agra, the one person he missed the most was Anarkali. At that point of time, he was angry even with his mom, but the one person who brought smile to his face was Anarkali. From our perspective, this "love" might be sudden, but for Salim, it is a bond of more than 12 years. He has been in love with her all that time without completely realizing it. From the time he comes to Agra, he is shown to feel that restlessness of her not being with him. Just before leaving Agra, he is shown to ask the question as to why he is feeling bad about leaving her and she says you will know once you grow up. Now Salim has grown and has understood what he felt regarding Anarkali all this time.

Coming back, seeing her that way has only fueled his anger even more resulting in him proposing her so early. He is shown to still consider her his friend and not as "kaneez", "rakkasa" or anything else as Akbar or others consider her.

Hope I am able to convey what I mean. 😃

Nice analysis. You have conveyed your thoughts really well like always

I was just thinking why I am not in sync with serial's Salim thoughts like many of you and then realized my idea about about a Mughal prince is totally different from what is shown .In my head maybe men of those age were not sensitive ones and were not capable of loving a women like today's men .Their priorities were different .

Salim's possessive nature reminds me of Dev . I miss Dev even today so happy seeing Salim having some traits of Dev .

Anarkali was a very good singer and great dancer. Salim judges her as the best in a competition. Akbar praises her dancing. Music plays a prominent role in this memorable fictional love story. Instead of showing Anarkali sing and dance, makers preferred to show her washing clothes..Absurdity at its peaks. This Anarkali has no speciality other than her khubsurati...And Salim...This is the worst interpretation any one can have on this role. This Shehjada had no time for anything else except brooding over his past or dying to have a glimpse of his love. He is mannerless, rude,I'll at ease with himself and the world. Dev Dixit is way ahead of this Salim Who is not at all lovable in any way. Less said the better about Anarkali the tragedy queen.

Hii Lakshmi 😃 Hope U Doing Well ⭐️ ..

same feel of mine too 😲 very disappointed the way presentation of this show forwarding 😕 which pouring water to watch Fav ❤️ Shaheer Sona❤️ onscreen Brilliant Pair ⭐️ like this way in under developed Characters 😲 🤪 n most of the way it seems like EK OTT show adding dramatic zooming effects felt very unconvincing unrelated as far 🤔 . Still hope in coming epis by observing TRPs makers come to normal sense of Viewers 😃 ..

The Love growth from child wood is so typical movie much than fiction of History 🥺 ...

Have a Great Time 😛

If I was still looking at this keeping in mind it is based on real historical characters, probly I wud be disappointed too. But I am not. Just watching it another show, I am able to take the OTT bits as well as the evil vamps and things quite lightly now and focus only on the brilliant acting.

Someone was saying Shaheer made the wrong choice with this show and this I do not agree bcos he has picked up the role bcos it will let him showcase a wide range of emotions and I am sure that this show will surely let him do that. Salim's characterization is such that he has so many layers and his equation with every other person is diff.
How the show itself will do, I do not know adn do not care much actually. But it will add to Shaheer's credentials as a versatile actor, that much I am sure For me, that is enuff actually:):) since I am not a fan of TV anyways. 😊

Jalk I really wish what u said become true

Forget about historical show even as a fiction it didn't impress me. About Salim his characterization is most poor till now. I can only see a obsessive lover in him, his anger for his father is justified but he has no right to insult Shahenshah of Hindustan in front of everyone . Murat and daniyal seems more well behaved prince than him.

About brilliant acting I want to say makers didn't use his talent till now, it's more than one week but we only saw the obsessive side in him. Even I feel makers didn't use others actors acting ability rightly.

In his 1st meeting with anar he said in childhood he used to wait for 2 things, and these two things were about anarkali ,ittar and letters I guess. It's really put me off, no mention about his mother at all

I just hope they changed Salim's character little bcz I'm watching it only bcz of shaheer
