Suppose Neela had not died and the ten year leap had not taken place.
After Avni returns from jail, Neela insists on having AvNeil marriage with full rituals. For that she wants Avni to stay with her in her house till the marriage. Neil is reluctant initially but for Neela he agrees to let Avni go.Bebe and Sweta gives clear instructions to Neil that he can't meet Avni till the marriage rituals are complete and Neela maa agrees with them. Neil feels restless. At night, Neil is unable to sleep, goes to Neela maa's house and sneaks into Avni's room only to find Avni also awake.Avni is happy to see him but tells him to go before Neela maa sees him. Neil refuses to go claiming that Neela maa's house is his house also. In the meantime Neela enters into Avni's room and is not surprised to see Neil there as she was expecting him. She then takes promise from Neil that he will control himself till marriage and Neil assures Neela that he will keep his promise.
Next day sangeet and mehendi are organized and Neil instructs the girl to first write Avni's name in his hand and then write his name on Avni's hand while he admires Avni from distance.
Neela, Ali and Nanno are from Avni's side where as Khannas and DD are from Neil's side. AvNeil marriage takes place and this time AvNeil take seven vows with smiles on their faces.
Later that night suhaag raat and next morning AvNeil tease each other for the previous night. On dining table, Prakash and Sweta gift AvNeil honeymoon tickes for Goa. Avni starts blushing and makes excuses while Neil tells her to shut up and accept the honeymoon tickets.
After spending quality time in Goa they return to Mumbai and Neil resumes his duties.
In a shopping mall, Neela maa bumps into her old college friend who had a crush on her and is still unmarried. Neela is delighted to meet his old friend and they start meeting frequently to relive their old days.One day, in a lunch date, AvNeil sees them in a restaurant. Neil thinks they look good together but Avni feels there is nothing between them. Through DD, Neil finds that he is good person and also learns that he likes Neela. Neil first convinces Avni that Neela also needs a life partner and together they try to convince Neela that she should agree to marry him.
Neela scolds them and tells them that he does not need a man's support to spend her life. They should not bring this topic again.
After few weeks, Avni finds that she is pregnant. Everybody is happy with the news and gives a list of dos and don'ts to Avni. Avni learns knitting sweater from Neela for her baby. Bebe, Sweta and Neela take special care of her and scold her whenever she behaves carelessly.
Due to tremendous work pressure, Neil fails to go with Avni for her routine check up. Every time he fails, he does special things for Avni to make up for it. On delivery day, Avni is being taken to hospital and everybody thinks that Neil will not be able to reach on time. But Neil reaches on time and gives assurance to Avni before she enters labor room.
After some time the doctor comes out of the room and informs everyone that Avni has given birth to a baby boy and at the same time DD comes with the good news that Neil is being promoted to the next rank. AvNeil do the naamkaran of their son. Avni gets a job as criminal counselor. Bebe, Sweta and Neela take care of Pillu when his parents are out for work.
Nanno fixes Ali's marriage with a girl and Ali gets married to her. Ali's wife gets insecure on seeing Ali and Avni's close friendship.Neil senses her insecurity and makes her understand that Ali and Avni are childhood friends. Ali is a man of his word and he will always be loyal to her.
Sunehri gets release from jail and DD catches her stealing someone's purse. Instead of arresting her, he takes her to Avni. Avni counsels Sunehri and with DD's assistance, help Sunheri get rid to of her bad habits. DD and Sunehri fall for each other and decide to get married.
AvNeil make all the arrangements for their marriage. Just after the marriage, Ali informs AvNeil that his wife is expecting their first child. Hearing this, Neil expresses his desire to become father for second time but Avni refuses as she is already juggling between family and work.
Due to good conduct, Aman is released from jail before completing his term.He promises Avni and Neela that he will become a good person. He starts staying with Neela and Neela asks him to help her in her NGO activities .Sweta's cousin and her daughter comes to stay with her for few days. After returning from a party the girl is attacked by some goons and Aman saves her. After few interactions they start dating each other.
The girl tells about Aman to her mother but her mother develops some reservations about Aman when she learns that he is illegitimate. Khannas make her understand that Aman should not be judged on the basis the fact that whether his parents were married or not and give example of Avni. The girls' mother agrees for the marriage and first season of naamkarann show ends with Aman getting married and Avni whispering in Neil's ear that she is pregnant.
