Rajesh Khana was a bad actor!

So i was watching a couple of old movies of Rajesh Khana and with all due respect..he was such a terrible actor

so one-note and his acting looks so forced

i wonder was he also criticized during his time for his lack of craft like salman and katrina are brutally now?

Though i won't agree with Naseer that Rajesh introduced mediocrity in BW coz every actor has his own journey and brings something to the table but he surely was mediocre in his craft

Thoughts?

PS..lets leave this strictly on acting and not on his personal life coz he is no more..

I liked him in Bawarchi. That movie he was A chef. He was sincere in that film

I liked him in Anand. But he always had typical mannerisms.

I don't know why, no one criticises the acting of earlier generation heroes. That does not mean they were great actors. I don't get the hype with Dilip Kumar either. Raj Kumar, Manoj Kumar were also not actors.

At least, I felt Manoj Kumar/Rajesh Khanna were handsome. Dilip Kumar, Raj Kumar were not even that.

He was a gud actor with no versatility. But I believe its not his fault. Actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Dilip Kumar etc too were famous for their Typical style in their every single film.

The simple reason was at that time, these actors wanted to create their own trademark style. Also the audience at that time expected them to enact their signature style in their movies. Maybe the failure to do so may result in the movie becoming a flop.

I also felt that but in those days their onscreen aura and personal style had more affect on people. they were loved for their unique style of acting even though it was bad. They had maintained their image very well in those days and newer generation critiques don't criticize them out of respect maybe. Acc. to me Manoj kumar was the worst, I literally cannot stand him 😆

for me dilip was great. SRK acts a lot like him, he even mentioned it once.

Which ones did you watch? He had some really bad acting movies. But had some really good ones too. Overall I find most of the yesteryear actors and actresses very one note most of the time. That include Dilip Kumar whom even film industry rates as GOAT.

I think got stuck in his own hype and started hamming. I will have to rewatch his movies to see when he became a caricature of himself.

Dilip Kumar came at a time when actors were really stiff and talked in strange old timey way. He was so natural. Ididn't care for him in mughal e Azam but really enjoyed him in Aan. I totally figured out why my grandmother had a crush on him.

HE was good in subtle movies like Kati Patang, Aap ki Kasam was really good, especially the ending and when he realizes his faults he was a good actor in some movies
