On a serious note I don't think many people who are against nepotism claim that it is a guarantee that insiders will end up becoming stars or superstars...what is said that the privileges and chances the insiders get can not be denied...didn't abhishek bacchan get those chances which any other outsider in his place would not have got? wasn't his first movie itself a flop? wasn't saawariya flop too? what about alia bhatt? her sharanya was neither that big a hit not critically acclaimed, yet she got highway...which was critically acclaimed perhaps but didn't do well at the box office? which outsider gets movies pe movies after their first movie is neither critically acclaimed nor commercially hit and their second movie is only critically acclaimed while being a huge flop?Where are the stars of fukrey?of pyaar ka punchnama?what chances did they get by the big insiders of bollywood?I understand it is their money...but if they really want to indulge in nepotism then be unapologetic about it na...why be defensive or in denial about it? Denying the chances that insiders get only undermines the struggle of the outsiders...does it not?like let me give one example...my father is in quite a comfortable position financially while my friend's is not...I did not have to work during my graduation years to pay the fee...while my friend had to work...so she was studying as well as working...I did not stop using my father's money or start earning for myself during graduation but what I can do is acknowledge that yes her life has been tougher than mine...similarly I don't say that these insiders stop enjoying the benefits they get...but a simple acknowledgemnt,a simple acceptance...what exactly is the harm in that? This is the least that can be done to show respect for someone's hardships.

Let me clarify, on behalf of most people, why we're against nepotism. Nepotism doesn't make anyone a superstar. You need talent and hardwork to succeed. But nepotism makes it easier for sons, daughters, nephews etc. of Bollywood actors and actresses to obtain opportunities to prove themselves. Due to these connections, they even get more opportunities after they fail. Case in point, Alia Bhatt. Though I admire her acting and think she's a really good actress, it can't be denied that her initial launch and her rise to stardom were helped greatly by nepotism. Firstly, she was launched through KJ and to be honest, she wasn't noticed much for her acting in SOTY. Yet, she managed to get a great movie like Highway, which helped to prove her acting skills. Do you think any newbie would have gotten a role like Veera in Highway, after having a dismal reception in SOTY? That doesn't mean that I'm taking credit away from her. She is a good actress, but she definitely had a easier time than a newbie in the initial stages.
That brings me to the main problem with nepotism. By favouring only relatives of BW actors and actresses, we are raising the barrier for newbies. Newbies, with genuine talent, who can shine as or even brighter than these elite if given equal opportunities. Look at all the young actors being launched today. How many of them aren't related to BW? Almost all are. By providing opportunities, based on connections and not talent, many ardent fans of BW are worried that we are settling for a standard of mediocrity. Cos we need competition to raise the bar for acting. How many actresses are giving competition to Alia Bhatt now days? We are not against actors and actresses from BW families and their acting in BW but feel that they should not be favoured and even newbies should be given equal opportunities. Like any other profession, once you resort to nepotism, it restricts true talent and development.

As i said in previous post, around 250 Films Release every year. Do complain about this NEPOTISM, if out of those 240 Films are made for Star Kids & only 10 for OUTSIDER.While in reality, you will find a New Star Kid with 1 or 2 films, while New OUTSIDER Getting over 100+ films every year for LAUNCH.

CHANCE sabhi ko milta hai, OUTSIDER Get MORE Chances every year. While STAR KID is trolled, humiliated & forced to sit at home, OUTSIDER can work as much he can, until one day he succeed.
