Your opinion on Sonam being 'fashion icon'

Sonam is often praised for her fashion sense
But I really don't find her dressing sense to be anything special
She basically just copies whatever the latest runway trends are
What do you guys think?

overdressed and OTT. You can only follow her fashion if you have the bucks for it. In Bollywood, Anushka's dressing sense is more affordable than hers. You can easily find what similar to what Anushka wears esp. if you shop at Loft's final sale and express with coupon.Her outfits are beautiful, but they come with such expensive price tags, it will drain your bank account. She is always overdressed for every damn occasion.🤔

She does have lot of aesthetic style but she over-dresses ALL the damn time!!!! I love her in her relatively simple looks because otherwise she just looks like a couture Christmas tree!!

I love Anushka's dressing sense! It's simple, breezy & yet makes a mark. The real fashionista is Kangana. Karisma is elegant yet impeccably put together too. <3

I love Twinkle & Mira's dressing sense too!! Best in BW. Twinkle always has some quirky piece to set apart her outfit & Mira is always so impeccably & classily dressed!!! <3

She dresses well most of the time. Sometimes I agree she goes OTT. She looked like a joker at the Ralph Russo fashion event.

Anushka this Anushka that. At least Sonam took the time to churn out a fashionable clothes line without copying Chinese stuff.

Also, Sonam is a fashion icon and Kangana is the only one who comes close so far. These girls try new things and wear their clothes. They don't let it wear them.

Before Sonam entered Bollywood and made of fashion a big deal nobody cared about being well-dressed let's give to Caesar what's his.

You might find her dressing OTT or whatnot but I'm not sure you saw her dress casually otherwise you wouldn't day this. Also she wears what she likes and always said that people should wear what they are confortable with she doesn't expect anyone to copy her.

Finally, you might think she was a joker at the R&R show at the Paris AW FW but she was the first Indian to be a Showstopper there which count for something and she was magnificent.

Being the Bride is not given to just anyone and what she was wearing was heavy so really she rocked it seeing the little experience she has in the matter of catwalking.

FASHION ICON DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN to have attires that can be weared in regular life,

one can be ott or overdressed and can still be style icon, it mainly boils down to one's INNOVATIVENESS and been CREATIVE with one's wardrobe/attire/style..and sonam is forsure this.

so YEAH she indeed is a fashion icon as she got a great aptitude for been creatively stylized.

It surely differs from person to person... to some she may be a fashion icon, but not for everyone.

As for her being a face of fashion icon, I think a 'fashion icon' is one that tries on varied styles and can carry themselves well, look good doing so. They have an aptitude to put together different things and do so with a flare, even if it is too bold. A fashion icon can also be one that specializes in one kind of style, but point is, they look good and are worth a look in whatever they wear. May not be tasteful to many but they bring a lot to the world of fashion.. and do turn heads (in a good way mostly)

By fashion here, I mean mostly showbiz... (and some small way even daily wear)

The fashion icon title was bestowed upon her by the media and industry and propagated by her own PR during early 2010s... a time when other actresses were dressing in awful satin sarees, boring bodycons and frocklike ridiculous anarkalis...

I might be wrong... but back in 2009/2010 Sonam seemed to be the only one who wore unconventional outfits.. I saw the dhoti saree (which many people consider to be stupid btw) on Sonam first.

Now every actress dress experimental so everyone is a fashion icon now...But Sonam did bring a breath of fresh air to BW's fashion scene 7/8 years ago..
