I don't think she's a Fashion Icon. You don't see girls going to the mall or stores to be like her lol they don't follow her in that sense

However she does dress well 80% of the time and she's probably the only one in the industry who puts in so much effort to look good and presentable. Everyone else is lazy, Kangana is a another good one but she's

She's definitely a fashion icon. She brought a whole different sense of dressing to BW and now everyone has stylists and wears more fashion forward clothes. She also helped some Indian designers get international recognition.

She loves fashion and it shows.

Nobody can copy her because the stuff she wears is too exclusive and expensive but she does have a habit of starting trends and people pick up bits and pieces from her. Years ago, she started wearing Indian-style jewelry with western gowns and it looked amazing. She also wears unusual shapes and fabrics and stuff normal people are afraid to and makes it work most of the time. Every time she wears a new designer, everyone in BW starts wearing them.

She deserves the credit she gets for this title. And anyway it's a better way to get attention to stay in the news than constant make-up break-up stories and weird rumors.

Sonam- The clothes wear her and not the other way around. I don't think much of her fashion sense. I think she has looked better in her less avant garde outfits.

Sonam wears most clothes beautifully. But I think her sense of style was influenced and even today is helped by her mom. Difference between style and fashion is style is timeless and fashion is fleeting, Here, Sunita Kapoor her mom is a true style icon to me. Sonam is more fashion icon.

Honestly... Sonam herself can't dress well. All the pics I see of her in vacay or alone she's dressed in rags.
It's only when Rhea or Anaita dress her that she looks good. Without Rhea or Anaita guidance Sonam would not really be a fashion icon.

I don't get the craze for this whole Fashion thing. I feel all of it as a marketing gimmick.

Haven't followed much of Sonam's fashion Icon journey but of whatever I have seen,she is most of the times Overdressed but it is the case with most Indian Celebrities.

Only thing worth remembering is talent. 90s had the most OTT style on could think of yet the actresses are loved,missed and remembered not because of what they wore but how much talent they had and continue to have.
