I like the way Kanak is handling Uma since her bidai. I first thought why kanak is being too nice and not reacting to his unreasonable behaviour. Then I thought OK She has already figured him out. She knew before but now fully understands when Uma says he does not do anything against his dharam. She knows he is a good person in heart, likes her, cares about her, is a family man who fulfils his responsibilities towards his younger siblings. She knows he doesn't degrade women as he has a mother, aunty and sisters at home and seen his relationship with them, but feels its a women's duty to stay at home, look after the family and husband as he is influenced by his dharam. The same dharam that was introduced to him at a young age where he had no control of and is unable to understand anything beyond his dharam. The dharam he reads everyday since childhood containing the Do's and Dont's in life, women's role and men's roles, who is the breadwinner etc has all been stored in his brain. The dharam that has been forced on him since his father's death, be it by his Masisa or by turmoil of events in his life. We together with Kanak are yet to see the flashbacks of his past.

She knows when she talks in serious mode to Uma he listens to her, may or may not follow her advice but listens to her. That's why she wants to get along and understand eachother and become friends first. That's why till then she knows not act all immature and argue for her rights. She knows it can done by showing examples and providing evidence, as then she knows Uma would not deny the truth. He mission impossible was successful with drinking tea and addiction. She knows her missions are not going to be easy, as she will have to listen to insults and get abuse from Uma and family members. She knows she will bear all this in order to help Uma and his dharam.

She knows in order to help Uma now she has to know his past. She knows when she suceeds on Uma's trust as a friend he will open up about his past to her. she wants to be normal with him, spend time with him, do a bit seva to him, love him as a friend, love him as his lover and then love him as his wife. She knows when his Dharam issues is sorted, her husband will be remorseful for what he has done so far be it for the forced marriage. And after that she knows Uma will love her unconditionally. And she is looking forward to that.

But soon she will know that whilst she's handling her husband sensitively, Masisa will do the opposite and will try anything to prove kanak wrong in order for Uma to hate her and leave her. She will then know she has to make sure Uma is not emotionally influenced by Masisa and continue showing love to her husband so all the negatives that has been stored in his brain is washed out. She knows this will be tough as Masisa, palomi and Suman will taunt her. She knows she has to help Uma and family to see the reality but to do it with dignity. She would want Uma to discuss his general feelings/issues/problems to her and not go to Masisa and get influenced again. To do that she needs to spend time with her husband.

Till then she knows her husband flirts with her, stares at her touches her likes her attention which she enjoys it here and there too. She knows she also likes to stare at him, talk to him, wants to do seva to him and love him as a friend and will eventually become his premika. She is looking forward to that as she was smiling today and touched his kurtha and put it under her clothes. Kanak knows she too has started to have feelings for him. She knows there's something special about this Uma that makes her heart go dhak dhak.

(seen on youtube a scene coming up where Uma has a headache and she gets the oil to rub it on his head etc. when she comes to the room with the oil Masisa is there rubbing his head with the oil and says something like ive done umas seve before and can continue etc . kanak feels sad and walks off with the oil and Uma looks at her with sad expressions. cant wait for that scene too.

I am sorry, I think I am too much against Uma today until I hear sorry from him for shouting at Kanak in front of others I can't change my opinion about him even he saves her life and get injured

For me respect is everything all others comes later, Uma insulting Kanak in front of other never agreeable

Kanak is dealing with lot of patience and sensibility but Uma lost all of common sense.

I don't think Uma was sad he was enjoying in the oil OLV, he wasn't care for Kanak emotions

Kanak eyes were expressed so much I pity this girl

Living without a husband foremost better than to have husband like Uma who insults his wife in front of others

Leaving behind such loving brothers for this kind of man is most stupid thing every Indian women does in name of marriage.

Sorry this is my opinion and thoughts

No offense

No one will respect you when you don't respect yourself

Not any relationship or guilt is more important which compromise your self respect and dignity

And I know
You write so well. 👍🏼

I like this show for the themes it explores. Patriarchy, gender roles, gender equality, equality in general. Though it is ott, it is pretty close to real life.
Men like Uma exist. And I really don't know how to change them. Kanak's emotions and feelings are much more pure than Uma. While he is bound by his dharm and family she has nothing to hold on to except the hope that he will love her in the true sense one day. And that is enough for her like the millions of girls who leave their families.

Exactly my point, were Umas claims of love n respect even true, he just shouted at her, despise her requests for acceptance in her individual unique form wants her to be like his mom n aunt, why choose her then? He cannot walk all over her in name of love!

Run Kanak from this extreme family before you regret and do not be a sacrificial lamb on maasisa alter. I prefer Kanak of Seeta Geeta any day to become Geeta to family and Seeta to Uma

Hey guys. Don't worry no offence has been taken. Its nice to see how the story is picking up and our views on it.

I think because I studied psychology, before I judge anyone especially someone like Uma, the extremist on his Dharam, I like study that person to see whether any psychological trauma has happened through his childhood, through this teen or even adult. And Uma has had a fair share. His dad whom he adored and had fun with died early, his mother is paralysed, no elders, uncles and aunties. Just Masisa turns up to help to raise them. If Masisa didn't influence or showed him the path of living then how did he manage himself. Did he cope with life but blocking the painful events and carry on. masisa always says Uma ki banaye hui niyam ek missal hai etc but how did he make these niyam? What did he study to make this niyam? Did somebody had a hand in influencing a 5 year old? If so who is it? If you remember in the radha krishna time Uma was talking about his childhood about his dad and how it was fun and how he wished he go back to 5 year old and he stopped there. I wish Kanak remembers that chat and ask him to finish what he was saying why did he want to be that 5 year old boy again? Has something happened in between that time, don't you like the person you have become? So many questions that were left to ask that day.

I think kanak should talk about his dad to him more often and about his childhood. I feel his anger on kanak is because when she challenges him on niyam and dharam ans his niyaam ans dharam on women don't make sense to kanak so she will keep bringing it up in front of Uma knowing he will get angry at her. Think she'll kill Uma with kindness LOL Other than that I havent really seen him get angry at kanak. At the Sita and Gita dharam like drinking water from from his feet, or eating food on his plate. He never forced her instead said it's your repentance on the alcohol jalebi it's up to u if want to do. If not then not allowed in the pooja . when she tells him why should a women drink water etc why is she impure on periods he just listens to her and thinks but he can't go against his dharam all he say.

So like she said to him near the cycle that you don't understand until I have to show you examples and proof or something.

When kanak challenges his beliefs he gets pissed off gives her the lectures of what he has learnt observed and carried out as he believes what he does is right as that's he has learnt. For him he's not wrong on his beliefs on dharam so obviously any human being will react and lash out. Even in the first night about being a friend he took her near shivji and gave lectures of his usual gyaan!

Anywys to cut the story short, I feel kanak understands him well and therefore is being his friend and is counselling him without him knowing. Showing what's right and wrong with proof and examples. Think my physiology studies kicked in when I remembered that conversation when he was 5 years old. Now up to the story he is in a position where he is worried about Kanak's level of intelligence. She is capable of changing each thing that is wrong in the house. He is starting to realise that anything kanak feels wrong she will go and study and put her coursework on the table in front of him and Masisa and prove them wrong. Thats why at first don't click on when he had to sign his addition explanation and when kanak said to suman you don't need to apologise etc Uma walked up to kanak and and said Saras your bhabisa got ur book. He knew she was holding the board with his signature on. He knew she on something with this addiction. So yeah he is worried now.

Anyways we got a looonnnggg way before anything is revealed in story till then we have to deal with Uma's nakre here and there along with their amazing interaction in the bedroom. And of course he doesn't want to hurt masisa feelings also.

I just hope they continue Kanak gets to hear from Uma his about his childhood.

What a defense!

I will appoint you as Uma's defense lawyer.

I literally felt like crying when you talked about his childhood.

All you said true..

Thank you for your insight..

LOL manasa I don't mind being his defense lawyer! I wouldn't charge him anything

last night i felt sad for him after what blues said that he is wary of kanak now and what she can achieve. And the fact that he loves her. it's normal to say no the kheer when someone's not in their state of mind it didn't mean he was rude to kanak! Hopefully he has the kheer later or sees shiv enjoying the kheer. Kanak is going the right way of her goals. Not because she wants to win this but because she wants a happy marriage with everyone included even Masisa, but i suppose soon she'll realise about masisa and palomi.

I just love the way she talks to Uma now and how se stares at him with caring eyes!

Just realised there's a few mistakes on my post, typing errors. Hopefully it was understood what I was trying to say I was typing so fast LOL.
