Kindred souls
She was in bed, half way to heaven when he opened the door without knocking and walked in, she didnt bother to turn towards him
"I dont have my glasses" she mumbled
"Why are you asleep already?" he demanded
"I have to read two articles tomorrow," she said sadly
She turned finally laying on her back as he lowered himself on the edge of her bed
"And why are you sleeping here?" he asked
"I like the center of the bed" she said innocently
He chuckled.. "Why?"
"Because I am far away from the bathroom door and far away from the balcony door" she reasoned
He burst out laughing
He leaned
"ashwinnn" she ordered with a finger shake, scooting up in bed to sit up gathering the V of the oversized tee
"Are you afraid of intruders?" he was baffled.
"Who?"
"Umm.. burglars?"
She nodded
"A guy that can get to your room cant get to the center of the bed?" he was hysterical
She back slapped him playfully
"More reason you should sleep with a man" he said like a chauvinist
"Women are brave" she said calmly
"I know they are" he whispered
He reached with his knuckles and rubbed her cheek
She pushed the locks behind her ear so he cud do it better
"I am big and strong" he whispered mischievously "I could take the guy down"
"Not without your glasses" she whispered
He crushed her laying down on her upper body, pinning her hands on top
He smelled fresh... soapy and cool
She felt herself taking short quick breaths to drink the scent in
"You should move into the other room"
"Umm.. I dont even know if we should live like this" she said calmly
Her arms were still pinned
"I promise there is no ex girlfriend paraphenelia in that room" he promised
"what is that?"
"Things" he said
She lowered her gaze self consciously
"I havent had a girlfriend for a year? two years now Trish" he said softly
"I dont worry about that" she said
"what do you worry about?" he asked slowly...
"my father.." she said sadly
He gently slid off her body, laying by her
"I wish I knew what that feels like" he said
There was complete silence in the room for the next 10s of minutes
She turned and gently placed and arm around him
"I am sorry... you were young?" she asked nervously
He grabbed her hug fully and enveloped her in his arms
"I was 21" he said haltingly
She exhaled slowly...
"Your father was very strict?" she asked
He smiled slowly
"No... not one bit" he said sadly. "I miss him every single day!" he said inaudibly
"Oh?" she was shaken
She was modeling every father's behavior on her own
Sanchet and Paresh feared her father. Sanchet until the whole liqor revenue issue
Slowly his rebellion showed its ugly face.. weekly... sometimes daily
Until that night
"We did many things together. Us... all" he corrected
"Your mother must miss him?" she asked
"Just like your father" he ack
"When did you lose your mother?" he asked somberly
"Umm... a year... after" she stopped not saying anymore
She wanted to say after Sanchet ran away
He took it as the night of the brawl
They both found a commonality that night. They were both children of a single grieving parent..
