what is the need for Samay??

The show really doesnt need 2 psychos! it would have been more interesting if Samay was NORMAL, maybe a cop or detective, someone related to mayas past or help saanjh uncover mayas truth...that way there could be hope for Arya and Saanjh can end up with Samay..

Both Maya & Samay are behaving like mad persons driven by obsessive love!
One receives support & sympathy and the other gets criticized for his craziness!

Both Maya & Saanjh have transgressed moral boundaries of matrimonial relationships!
One gets the benefit of some weird justification and the other gets bulldozed for her moral standards!

Both Maya & Arjun have dubious interactions-since they are hiding it from their spouse- with their Ex!
One does not get tainted while other gets grilled whenever found indulging

Sab maya hai & why do we need really anyone else?

This guy Samay is such a let down. He had such an impressive introduction but since then he has been cringe worthy in his antics. His constant crying and whining makes him such a turn off. Even his remarkable physique cannot help him to look attractive. Btw was he using waterproof phone in the shower? How can he use phone while water ran all over him? What purpose did it serve? When all he can do is whine 😲

There was actually no need of samay to be Maya's ex, that even sounds so unrealistic as in earlier episodes it was always mentioned "Bachpan se akeli maya" where the hell this ex came from when she didn't even had a friend. She clearly mentioned to her mom that there is no place for any man in her life, before falling in love with arjun.

I hope the past they show is sth sensible. But I agree with you that Samay really should have been played sth else, there was no need of another psycho, too much of all this appears to be so boring and unrealistic. No doubt TRPs have gone down coz of samay.

I too agree that Samay was needlessly portrayed as Maya's ex and that the TRPs have gone down because of this deranged fellow. That finger cutting action was way too much and the scene too macabre. I just closed my eyes and only listened to the dialogues. I find Samay to be a real cringe worthy and disgusting fellow. Let us assume the motive here is to push Maya to extreme levels of madness.
What can cause her such a heightened sense of insecurity?
A genuine fear of losing Arjun from her life is the obvious answer!

How can this happen? Some possibilities are:

A. Maya's evil acts can repulse Arjun to move away from her & lean towards Saanjh & Sharmas

B. Another jealous man in Maya's life can threaten to jeopardize the relations between married couple

C Arjun may cheat & go away from Maya

D.Saanjh can woo Arjun & change his mind on Maya

Option A will show Maya in very poor light, but already CVs are working in this direction. Not clear , how far they will go to butcher her character!

Option B- This is where Crazy Samay going to play some role! Will he go to the extent of fake killing of Arjun, we do not know?!

Option C -Very unlikely, as CVs have realized that Arjun's character got weakened considerably & since he is the hero, it is time for some damage control. So no more 'revenge seeking' on Maya!

Option D -This experiment will never be attempted after the 'misfired holi fiasco!' Saanjh Vs Maya fight is something like David vs Goliath! Saanjh has no chance, unless, CVs come to support her character! So, Saanjh won't do it!

We can say, if the next major event is going to be ArYa separation, there are only two workable options: ie. options A & B!

Maya enjoys huge support & is strong enough to push for the option A & Samay is not having any major stakes in the story as he is not part of trio leading the show! So he can be tried for all kind of stunts!

That is what -I think- presently happening as well!
