I would not compare dance forms as each has its own unique quality or skill- whether it's classical or contemporary or fusion nor relegate it to regions.

Underrated-Mumtaz..?! well I am not sure how she was rated as a dancer(never heard her name among Asha Parekh,Hema malini,Dimple etc).Pretty much no clue about the actor rankings from that era but I happened to watch some of Mumtaz songs on TV lately and loved them.I dont know about the accuracy in moves,but I like her expressions,grace and versatility.Reminds me of PC's ease while dancing

Not sure I agree with Karishma.

I think 3 of Katrina's best dances are Chikni Chameli , Kamli and Ishq Shaava

Classical: Waheeda Rehman, Jaya Prada, Meenakshi Seshadri, Vyjayantimala, hema malini, sridevi, madhuri, shobhana, and my most favorite Bhanu Priya

I think early bw dancers were all trained classical dancers
Helen was trained in 3 different forms and then she followed cabaret dancing
And her kind of dance is the predecessor of modern item numbers

Some like sheila ki jawani belly dance steps are quite difficult.

Kaahe Ched is perhaps not a popular dance of Madhuri, being pure classical but her expressions, mudra and footwork there is amazing

Aishwarya is actually not weak. When she was acting, pure dance numbers were not much there. It was more song sequence. But her footwork , mudra, eye movement and expressions in kannamoochi ennada is outstanding. I spent a lot of time trying to match those moves to that beat and it defo is not easy.
