The sexual undertones/jealousy - Vitharv

Yesterday's sequence had so many emotions involved from both sides, it was an extremely charged sequence between both lovers. Full of love, betrayal, pain and extreme anguish. What I really enjoyed is the subtle yet evident sexual possessiveness and jealousy.

Vividha had said 'Woh jaanta hai mein sirf uski hoon. Haq samajhta hai mujhpe' (not exact words but almost).

So, yesterday Atharv found out that she is married to someone else. What does he do? He finds the room she stays/sleeps in and messes it up completely! This is technically the room of a married couple but he feels he has the right to destroy it because he is that possessive. Kind of reminded me of the scene where Sujal burnt the honeymoon bed of Piyush & Kashish (she was a right...).

Anyway! Atharv has made a mess of the room. He takes out all her belongings, the bangles, the jewellery, the sindoor, the saris. Notice how he caresses the bangles right down as if to say 'everything that belongs to you is mine' - it's as if he's touching HER! Very poignant and intense! Then he pointed at the place where Vividha's 'husband' might have been staring at her from, the place where they must've sat hours sitting talking, then the bed...

During the Chintu track, Vividha told him that he can't even bare a man near her or even if he talks to her. Atharv admitted it to himself that he can't tolerate someone even thinking about her.

It was very clever how they brought that forward and magnified it in obvious and not-so obvious ways because we know that Vitharv have been a very physically affectionate couple yet they're at a point where Atharv has to stop her from touching him.

Those sexual undertones were played out really really well yesterday.

How did you not pick it up Monu darling! Him throwing her stuff, touching her stuff, pointing at where someone must've stared at her, talked to her, slept on the same bed as her.

The sexual tension/jealousy was very much palpable! When you give someone rights over yourself, you literally bare your soul to them and that's the kind of relationship ViTharv share. Normally Atharv wouldn't have just barged into someone room like that, but he knows he has a rigt over Vividha and won't hesistate to exercise that and the same goes for Vividha!

I'm not even gonna buy the crap of their love ain't real anymore cause he said all those harsh words. I've been seeing such double standards on this forum yesterday! Nearly every couple in the history of indian tele has said harsh words to each other yet they're still classed as soulmates. Sujal was sometimes even physically harsh on Kashish, yet they're the evergreen couple. Their love was never questioned and same goes for a lot of other couples I can name many!

ViTharv's love is still a class apart from these couples though. They're the only ones who have actually stuck together throughout! Now once has their love dwindled and touchwood it will stay like that!

I just loved that whole bedroom scene. It's going to be be among my favourite Vitharv scenes.

LOL!! No he wouldn't but with Vividha it's just like, she's mine, her room is mine, everything she wears is mine. Vividha KNOWS that! So she's not shocked at that behaviour because she's equally obsessive over him.

Oh please, Atharv hasn't even said anything to be compared to those other male leads. He doesn't demean women, it's the last thing he would do but as Vividha's lover he is hurt beyond anything. Sujal tried to destroy their married life, Atharv wouldn't do such a thing. Their love is passionate but not aggressive to the extent that they'll hurt each other by throwing insulting names at each other. Their arguments always make sense! Always have had. Their light nok jhoks were never forced and nor are these intense ones. They come with reason always!

That bed burning scene is quite infamous so it came to my head whilst writing the post actually.
