After following the whole uprising strenuously i personally feel that jallikattu was a symbol that evoked all the suppressed turmoil... it was an uprising for identity and voice to be heard... jallikattu was an adhesive which held the current political unrest, insensitive way of handling jallikattu issue by the state and center very conveniently only during pongal time, cauvery issue(this left an indelible mark in many young minds cuz SC order was not followed and they were at the receiving end of violence by large), farmer issues apart from water like Gail judgement, methane, to name a few...
Ppl should be really naive to think ppl of tamilnadu not jus chennai took to streets only for jallikattu *period*

P.s Please dont judge by seeing what they show on national media they cover and show only what they want to show, they understand only what they want to understand not what actually happens at ground zero. And their panel of oh so entitled elitists and liberals with their half baked assessment ,knowledge and myopic views was all the more jarring(this pertains not only to jallikattu). No wonder people wanted to be heard.
