Why does BANI has fans?

If you look back into the past, she has actually not done much! She is extremely hated in MTV roadies, nobody voted for her in finale, she made it to finale just because she faked love with Anthony. She had good relations with Raghu/Ranvijay so Endemol got her as VJ. In Khatron Ke Khiladi, she was bad in tasks, but blamed everything on her partner. Most co-contestants did not like her (including Diandra). She even sabotaged Alicia's chances in the show by dating her partner Shashvat Seth. She herself told such in interviews. She was then hosting the prelims of MTV roadies, and only got to be the solo host when the format of the show changed & Raghu quit. It was not on merit but was based on Ranvijay's request. She did many surgeries, tried her luck in films but failed. She participated in bodybuilding Asian championship, but failed.

Now coming to Bigg Boss, she was never really active, never expressed her opinions & never really showed herself well on screen. She had bad relations & said bad things about everybody. She comes across as selfish & only cares about herself. Its not just Lopa everybody thought the same about her in the house. She never became a true friend to anybody, not even Gaurav. She was escapist & bad in tasks. She is physically fit, but never tried hard in tasks... why? Because she simply doesnt care. She abuses a lot , including abuses on mothers.

Having said all that, even if you hate her you must accept, she has got tons of fans. Now the question is why? Is there any good quality in her I am missing out or is Indian people demented? I feel sad when people like Bani represent Indian youth (she is 30 though) .

Having seen her on BB, am curious too to know what exactly do her fans see in her. So I have the same question as you do.

Wow. Good one. Didn't know about Bani that much. But I have seen her hosting roadies. Few episodes. She is bad.

Yes, I saw that, people like Lopa/ Lokesh/ Manu/ Mona got their fan following doubled/trippled with Bigg Boss. Not the same with Bani, she already had fans from before, all because of her bad antics in earlier shows. Its the same way people like following KRK/ Parish Hilton. They all know these are useless people but get dark voyeuristic pleasure by following them.

And another big reason is extreme PR done by her as well as Endemol. If she wins they can save 40 lacs, even if they spend 20 lacs of it its still profitable.

Another logical point, as par Endemol contract, Winner takes the money, other contestants has to give 30% of their income outside the show to Endemol for next 1 year. This is the same reason , they evicted Sunny Leone. Similarly they want to evict Rohan & Lopa. Because Rohan & Lopa will get lot of work outside, Bani wont.
