Dangal Worldwide Figures After 17 Days

Dangal (Hindi) has grossed 624 crore Worldwide in seventeen days and become the second highest grosser of all time. In seventeen days Dangal has grossed 448 crore in India (333.63 crore nett) and 176 crore ($26 million) in Overseas giving it a grand total of 624 crore. Only PK is ahead of it but that seems tough ask and the target is probably to become the second film to hit 700 crore which make it only Aamir Khan films at this level but that will probably go down to the wire and the film needs to keep on going till the big releases in the last week in January. Below are the top ten all time Worldwide grossers.

1. PK - 741 crore

2. Dangal - 624 crore (17 Days)

3. Bajrangi Bhaijaan - 604 crore

4. Sultan - 583 crore

5. Dhoom 3 - 539 crore

6. Chennai Express - 396 crore

7. 3 idiots - 391 crore

8. Dilwale - 372 crore

9. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo - 365 crore

10. Bajirao Mastani - 358 crore

so people were complaining about tax exemption but here it has crossed the gross of all sallu movies, what do they have to say about it now?

also what are the footfalls? as I heard it will cross bb footfalls

so both footfalls and gross is more, any other excuse left?

Finally, got to watch the movie on Saturday.

What a mindblowing movie with superlative performances all round! It never felt as if these people are 'acting', it was so natural.

I am at a loss for words. I want to go and watch the movie again 😃

Hats off to the entire team of Dangal and especially to the Phogat family 👏👏👏

I saw it yesterday. At loss for words to describe the experience. Each frame of the movie, every actor, fight scenes, screenplay, dialogues, emotions, spirit - perfection.

It deserves all accolades it's getting. When we entered theater, there were only Americans sitting. Me and hubby was like.. kahi galat screens mein to nahi aa gaye. Checked again and sat. Couple Indians came later but amazing to witness non-Indians watching it with equal interest and applauding on many scenes. Unforgettable experience.

I think Dangal also has same repeat value that pk had. And title song gives you goosebumps. Daler Mehndi rocks such songs. 👏

Dangal Continues To Be Strong With Third Weekend Record

Dangal (Hindi) had a record third Sunday of 13.50 crore nett. The collections on day 17 are higher than the opening day of all releases in 2016 barring five of which one is Dangal itself and the other four being Sultan, M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story, Fan and Housefull 3. It is also a record for third weekend business beating the 26.75 crore nett of PK and 19.75 crore nett of Bajrangi Bhaijaan as it grossed 29.75 crore nett over a similar period. The total business of the film is 334.50 crore nett and it is possible it may become the highest grossing Hindi film in history on Monday as it crosses the 338 crore nett mark of PK which released two years back and managed to hold the lifetime record for a similar period. The business of Dangal (Hindi) till date is as follows.

First Week - 1,92,38,00,000

Second Week - 1,11,50,00,000

Friday - 6,25,00,000

Saturday - 10,00,00,000

Sunday - 13,50,00,000

Third Weekend - 29,75,00,000

GRAND TOTAL - 3,33,63,00,000 apprx

An dubbed version of the film in Tamil and Telugu also has mainly this week to make the numbers this week as next week will see big South releases. The total so far has crossed 11 crore and eventually should cross 12 crore nett.

More All Time Records For Dangal

Dangal (Hindi) has started breaking all time records before the second week was out and few more set over the weekend. At the moment it holds the NETT record in six of the 13 circuits in India. It has become the highest grossing Hindi film ever but the chase remains to do clean sweep across India that is all time records in GROSS, NETT and SHARE in every circuit in India. This has only been achieved twice in the last 50 years and that is Sholay (1975) and Hum Aapke Haim Koun (1994). The film is going to add more records over the next few days with the Eastern India market looking hardest to get all time records. In Overseas it has records in US / Canada and Australia. .The all time records so far for Dangal in India and main circuits are as follows.

India

Delhi / UP - 71.23 crore nett (18 days) - Beats the recod of Bajrangi Bhaijaan which was 70.60 crore

Note - The film was tax free in UP from day eight and in Delhi city from day fifteen

East Punjab - 40.66 crore nett (18 Days) - Beats the record of PK which was 33.44 crore nett.

Rajasthan - 19.01 crore nett (18 days) - Beats the record of Sultan which was 18.99 crore nett

Dangal Third Monday Business

Dangal (Hindi) had a drop in business on its third Monday as it grossed 4.25 crore nett. Its a drop because of what has gone before and now the film is finding it harder to hold on thw weekdays. That can be seen by the numbers on Friday and Monday compared to Saturday and Sunday. Compaing with other successful films the 35% drop on a third Monday is a trend but compared to how Dangal has performed it is the drop, The film has seen noticeable drops on second Tuesday (holiday period ended), third Friday and now third Monday. the lifetime business is now in the same range as PK with close to 338 crore nett. The business on Monday was a little less than what PK (4.40 crore) had grossed on the same day The business of Dangal (Hindi) till date is as follows.

First Week - 1,92,38,00,000

Second Week - 1,11,50,00,000

Friday - 6,25,00,000

Saturday - 10,00,00,000

Sunday - 13,50,00,000

Monday - 4,25,00,000 apprx

Third Week (4 Days) - 34,00,00,000

GRAND TOTAL - 3,37,88,00,000 apprx

An third week is set for another weekly record at 44-45 crore nett which would give it a second and third week record. The fourth week will be much harder. The film is looking at a 348 crore nett plus total after three weeks and the lifetime business should be around 365 crore nett. If the tax exemptions for Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh come through it may go a little higher.
