WATCH: 'Raees' song 'Udi Udi Jaye': Shah Rukh-Mahira paint the town in the vibrance of Gujarat!
The song 'Udi Udi Jaye' from Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan starrer 'Raees' is out and we're loving it!
After teasing us with the stills from the song, the makers of Raees have finally unveiled the third song 'Udi Udi Jaye' from the film. The track is an extremely catchy number which has a slight folk song feel to it.
The song begins with Raees (Shah Rukh Khan) sneakily watching Aasiya's (Mahira Khan) latke jhatke as she dances in front of a mirror. It then goes on to bring forth the crackling chemistry between the lead pair. We heart the parallelism drawn between kite flying and matters of the heart throughout the song.
The visuals can safely be said to have been divided in three sections. While the beginning deals with the festivities of Makar Sankranti, the second section takes us to the popular Navratri celebrations in Gujarat and the famous garba dance. This section is equally colourful and vibrant in the flavours of the state. The choreography by Samir and Arsh Tanna is effective and on point. The song ends with the nikaah of Raees with Aasiya.
Coming to the audio track, Sukhwinder Singh's powerful vocals are perfectly complimented by Bhoomi Trivedi and Karsan Sagathiya. The music composed by Ram Sampath is high on energy and retains a rustic, folk charm in certain parts of the song. We love Javed Akhtar's effective use of similes and metaphors from the popular Gujarati festivals in the lyrics that create lively imagery in the song.
