The makers of Raees have released the new song Udi Udi Jaye' and we love the song just like the previous ones. Each song has it's own individual flavours. This song celebrates the festival of Uttarayan in the most fervent manner as you see the lead actors Shah Rukh Khan who plays the role of Raees and Mahira Khan who essays the role of Aasiya, indulge in a folk Gujarati number. Their sweet moments and their dance together is a sight to behold. Of course, SRK is the centre of attraction here as he surely works his magic with his new look and romantic gaze.

The stills of the song would surely remind you of Bole Choodiya' from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' which also starred SRK in it with Kajol, but when you see the video, you realise this one is quite different. This song will set the right kind of festive mood to celebrate the festival of flying kites.

The song is crooned by Sukhwinder Singh, Bhoomi Trivedi and Karsan Sagathia and the music is composed by Ram Sampath. The lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar and the choreography is by Samir and Arsh Tanna.

Raees' is written and directed by Rahul Dholakia, Harit Mehta, Ashish Vashi and Niraj Shukla and will be releasing on January 25, 2017.

And the second song from Raees - Udi Udi Jaye is finally here! Featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan, while we knew for a fact this track is going to have a completely traditional vibe. Little did we expect it will show a blend of both Makar Sankranti and Navratri celebrations. Yes! Although the song begins with Makar Sankranti's patent tradition of kite flying with even the lyrics saying Dil Ki Patang dekho udi udi jaye' but it eventually leads into Mahira and Shah Rukh playing garba towards the end. In fact, even the Gujarati beats of the song will further make you relate more towards Navaratri festive than Makar. Composed by Ram Sampath, Udi Udi Jaye has been written by Javed Akhtar whereas it's sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Bhoomi Trivedi and Karsan Sagathia. Considering it's the second love song from the film after Zaalima that released last week, we wonder if the makers are cashing on Shah Rukh and Mahira's chemistry more than the actual plot of the film which revolves around the life of Gujarati underworld don, Abdul Lateef and his criminal doings. Like, you never know right? Probably it's a strategy to promote the love angle now and then get into the edgy story?

No doubt, Team Raees has been sharing quite a few promos and stills from the film every now and then. The latest we saw was a specially edited promo featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who also plays a prominent role in this film, that as the daring cop. Mahira looks stunning in the Indian look while SRK looks killer in his pathani avatar. In a tweet this morning, Shah Rukh Khan reminded us that it's almost Makar Sankranti and, therefore, kite-flying time across North India. Almost no film set in Gujarat omits a scene celebrating the tradition of flying kites during the harvest festival, locally known as Uttaraayan. Udi Udi Jaye, the new song from Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan's upcoming film Raees, adds an additional tadka with garba, the vigorous dance form from Gujarat. You might experience a sudden urge to reach for your garba sticks and dance, such is the infectious tune of the song. "It's almost Makar Sankranti, dil ki patang dekho Udi Udi Jaye," wrote Shah Rukh in the tweet sharing the song. Udi Udi Jaye has a very festive feel to it, and marks Shah Rukh's debut garba performance onscreen. Raees is Pakistani actress Mahira Khan's Bollywood debut.

Raees stars Shah Rukh Khan, 51, as liquor baron Raees Alam who operates in the dry state of Gujarat and features Mahira as his love interest. The colourful Udi Udi Jaye celebrates the romance between Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira's characters, beginning with Rarest Bhai admiring the object of his affection from behind a curtain and ending with their wedding. In between, they dance like no one's watching at a garba function and fly kites.

Udi Udi Jaye has been sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Bhoomi Trivedi and Karsan Sagathia and has lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Ram Sampath is the composer of the song.

In an interview with mid-day, Raees director Rahul Dholakia explained the reason behind including a garba-special song in the film. "Uttaraayan is one of the biggest festivals in Gujarat and garba is our state dance. No film rooted in Gujarat is complete without either of them. A majority of writers in the film were Gujaratis and we decided to include a special song, which will take the story forward," he told mid-day.

Watched the song about 10 times already. lol .How good does SRK look? I have liked everything from Raees so far, after CE this is the SRK movie I am so excited about..Rahul said in his interview that SRK Nawaz angle is the crux of the movie. Praying that the story will be good. Is Zaalima part of the movie, btw? Too many songs in that case for a movie like Raees. There is a song sung by Sonu and another one composed by Pritam yet to be released. Five songs is too much imo..
