Chapter 14
They brothers sat down to eat in almost a circle. The food was already served, Shubhadra was there to see if they needed anything else. Droupadi and Vrishali had taken the food to Radha and Kunti. It was actually a bit deliberate, Droupadi didn't want to be present there for obvious reasons. The brothers prayed and started eating, suddenly Karn noticed that Arjun was just playing with his food, he hadn't even taken a morsel. Karn signaled Yudhishthir with his eyes, Yushishthir nodded. "Duryodhan" Yudhishthir quite loudly "Tumhe smaran hai jis din humne Hastinapur mein pehli baar saath bhojan kiya, hume pitamah ne humse kuchh kaha thha" "Haan yaad hai" Duryodhan had also noticed Arjun. "Kya kaha thha Duryodhan?" Karn asked acting interested. "Mai batata hun" Dushyasan said just on que "Hume kaha thha ki bina haath more bhojan karo." "Kya apko iska uttar pata hai bhratashree?" Yudhishthir asked. "Hmm sochna padega" Karn acted like he was thinking hard. Then slowly and deliberately he made a small gulp of food, and then without any warning he put it in Arjun's mouth. Suddenly Arjun was taken aback. Arjun somehow swallowed the gulp. "Main kha lunga bhratashree" Arjun said. "Achha" Karn said "Tum kha kaha rahe thhe? Aur haath dikhao apne" Arjun hestantly raised his palm, there were numerous deep cuts all over his palm. "Inn hathon se khaoge?" Karn asked "Haath jalenge beta, mujhe pata hai tum sah sakte ho sab kuch, tum bohot bare yodha ho par abhi sahna awashyak nahi hai, main khila deta hun." Arjun nodded slowly. "Asal main tabiyat thhik nahi lag rahi isiliye nahi kha raha thha" he said. "Arjun yeh kya baat hui?" Duryodhan asked "Kuchh kha lo aushadhi bhi toh leni hai. Matlab ajab hai tum khana nahi chahte aur bheem toh kuchh bhi kha jayega." Arjun nodded. Karn slowly stroked his hair and gave him another gulp. "Main bich mein kaha se aya" bheem asked. "Arey khaane ki baat ho aur tum na aao aisa bhi ho sakta hai kya" Duryodhan teased "Pata hai bachpan mein na maine ek bar ise vish diya thha. Yeh toh aisa insan hai ki woh bhi hajam kar gaya...matlab vish ka koi mol hi nahi" all laughed "Tum mere pichhe kyun pade ho?" Bheem asked. "Ab dekho Karn aur Yudhishthir mere agraj hai, bechare Nakul sahadev toh bachche hain, Arjun bimar hai aur Dushyasan ke pichhe pad pad ke mein ub chuka hun toh baaki toh tum hi bache" Duryodhan said "Isiliye tumhare pichhe parta hun. "Achha" Yudhishthir said "Bohot hua ab khao sab." They all started eating again. Karn was feeding Arjun, he did not let Arjun touch the food. He kept on stroking Arjun's hair comfortingly and coaxing him to eat slowly, gulp by gulp. After Arjun finished, he then ate his own food while others waited.
The bed in Karn's room was moved and a long mat of hay was made instead so that all brothers could sleep together. Karn had gone to check on the children, when he came back he saw Arjune sitting with his back to the door. He did not have his angvastra on. He was praying his nightly prayers. Karn saw there were lash marks on his back. "Arjun" he called slowly, Arjun looked up. "Yeh tumhare pithh pe nishan kaise?" he asked. Arjun did not reply he just bowed his head. The other brothers also gathered round. "Batao Arjun yeh nishan kyun hain tumhari pithh par" Karn asked again placing his hand firmly on his shoulder. Arjun didn't reply. "Mujhe rakt dene ke liye inn ghau ki toh koi awasyakta nahi thhi, phir tumne apne aap ko haani kyun pahunchayi." he placed a hand on Arjun's cheek. "Uttar kyun nahi dete Arjun" Yushidhthir asked. "Maine dand diya thha swayam ko" Arjun said "maine jo bhul jo anyay kiya uska dand..." Karn slapped him before he could complete. "Kya samajh ke yeh sab kiya?" he asked angrily "Tumne koi apradh nahi kiya, tumne toh bas woh kiya joh tumhara dharm thha. Apne aap ko pira de kar kya socha mai prassanna ho jaunga. Bolo chup kyun ho." Arjun did not say anything, just a lone tear trickled down his eyes. "Mujhe jo pira tab ho rahi thhi apko uss tarah dekh ke main samjha nahi sakta aap sabko" he said his voice breaking "uss pira mein yeh zakhm toh aram dete hain." Karn slapped him again. "Pira ho rahi thhi isiliye apne aap ko aur pira pahunchali" Karn said "Yeh nahi soch baad mein mujhe kitni pira hoge tumhe dekh kar, Yudhishthir ko kaisa lagega kuchh nahi." Arjun was crying now, Karn saw that. Placing a hand on his shoulder. He pulled Arjun in a tight hug, and let him cry into his chest. "Shhh" he said "chup ho jao Arjun, chup ho jao" and rubbed losse circles on his back. Arjun's fever had increased he felt that. "Bas Arjun" Karn said "Chalo so jao. Mere nikat so, mai sar pe hath chalake sula dunga. Sab so jaate hain chalo." Karn was in the middle, on his one side was Arjun, after Arjun Nakul and Sahadev were sleeping, hugging Bheem. On the other side of Karn Duryodhan was there, who was sleeping between yudhishthir and Karn. On the other sode of Yudhishthir Dushyasan was there. They slept quite close to each other. "Kya soch rahe ho Duryodhan?" Yudhishthir asked seeing him lost in thoughts. "Kuchh nahi Bhratashree" he replied "Bas vichar kar raha thha ki Arjun ne apne aap ko is tarah dandit kiya, main toh satya hi papi hun toh mujhe kya dand milna chahiye." "Tumhe bhi maar khana hai?" Yudhishthir asked "So jaao chup chap" Karn kept on running his hand through Arjun's hair till he fell asleep. Arjun soon fell in a sound sleep after years and so did all. They slept peacefully in each others presence...
The new update as I had said...the next update will also be bromantic and also there will be prelims of the battle between Shakuni and the brothers...pls read and review...
