Painful, yet beautiful shot.. loved it.. 

The fact that as u say that You had a writer's block and its your first piece after it was a shocker. You were bluffing right? Coz This is as brilliant as ur writing always is. Different yet beautiful. Loved their friendship. The tension caused by Khushi's confession was so profound. Really amazing! ! Loved how Arnav was unable to let go of something that was too precious and how Khushi was all set to hold on to the same. Loved it. Brilliant writing Rae don't stop ever.

The best thing I liked about this story? It was realistic. Your characters and the story had that touch of reality. The message came through loud and clear- we don't get everything the way we want, in fact we don't get it at all sometimes.

oh rae, this was so softly brutal that it's still holding my heart. I confess I'm selfish, I very rarely read stories where they are not lovers -- but this, this is just so sad but echoes another relationship so well.
the way you nuance khushis feelings and also arnavs helplessness...it made me stop
and sigh at the futility of unrequited love.

also resonated very personally with me...

Its's apt that I got to read this finely nuanced piece on unrequited love today- World Poetry Day!

Despite it's associated tragedy, unrequited love is often considered, by poets atleast, the most romantic of all loves. And not without reason because one's unavailable, unapproachable or uninterested beloved can remain an object of indefinite, and often exaggerated, idealization!


You penned Khushi's pain really well. I was able to feel her every tear and every sigh. This quote came to mind:

'I know I am but summer to your heart,
And not the full four seasons of the year'. ~ Edna St. Vincent Millay.
