🤣
Barun sorry Arnav is the real man.
Honestly back to the topic, I have to agree Sujal (rajeev) was brilliant, I never watched the show properly but he and kashish were such a craze back then, and people loved it. He was one of the original bad boys and kashish gave it right back to him. All these characters, Maan, armaan, Asaad, arnav, Ahem, etc (KSG, Gurmeet, Barun, etc) are all characters based from Sujal or characters from older tv shows that were better made. Sadly none of them even come close, because they can't act and all they do is first be mad at the girl, torture her and then once the leads are together and in love all they are stuck doing is romancing the lead girl, pushing her against stuff, having dupattas flying and just giving expressions (sorry blank faces/constipated looks). That is why they couldn't make it in BW. They become showpieces in the shows once the hatred track is over and even in the hatred track they can't act. I honestly don't get the craze for some of them, okay fine some aren't that bad but still.
Compare them to Ronit Roy, Ram Kapoor these guys can act, sadly they weren't lucky in BW, and got a second chance once they ruled the TV.
Fawad was lucky because Pakistani shows don't overexpose you unless you choose to be overexposed. Plus he can act as well. He was very fortunate that Zindagi Gulzar Hai just came before Khoobsurat, but his popularity was already on the rise because Sonam's mum and her mum's friends, even Alia's mum already liked him. So not just the regular audience, but even the "elite" were loving him. Neither are pakistani actors exposed to the lifestyle of Indian tv actors, they are on tv everyday, and then on shows like SBS, SBB, etc. I mean yes it is weird that some of these actors have a crazy fan following but it doesn't materialise into numbers at the BO but this is partly due to the fact they get crap movies, if given good films and if they could act then those fans would come to the cinema. They walk out of their tv shows, disappoint fans, all for what B-Grade films?
But then you also have some really good examples like SRK - though I don't think anyone can attain that sort of superstardom from TV today, just not possible because he came at a time when the dramas were good, he could act, he was an overnight sensation and of course luck. You could compare Fawad's graph to SRK not completely but still a little, two hit tv shows and people love him like crazy and can act and BW was very open to accept him, same with SRK.
Look at sushant he left his show but still was in Ekta's good books, because he went about it the right way plus Kai Po che was a classier film than a lot of the films some of the recent Telly actors have tried to debut BW with. Same with Prachi, rock on was something she couldn't pass on, and even ekta must have seen that.
Another actor from tv who could have a shot is Iqbal Khan, again I never watched his show completely, but Angad had everyone going crazy and another bad boy done well.
I also really like Parth Samthaan from the current lot (and no I'm not some crazy fan girl, I only started watching the show a 2 weeks ago) but he is seriously a good actor and good looking, I would give him a proper chance. A lot better than some actors who have been on a tv show for years but still can't say their dialogues properly nor emote but Parth is pretty darn good. His chemistry with his co-actor was on fire, a bit like Sujal-Kashish (not as extreme because his was a youth show and KTH was an intense drama). 😆
Okay enough of my ramblings. LOL sorry for the long post.
