I concluded this much from this conversation.

And this might prove to be an obstacle.

I spun around, and exclaimed," God! What is wrong with you? You cannot destroy my career for a stupid personal vendetta!"

"You bet , I will.", arrogance radiating from him in waves as he stood up from his desk and stalked towards me.

" No way can you do that! And you know what I don't regret a single bit slapping you because You. Deserved.It I did a hundred percent correct thing. Guess your mother didn't slap you enough to bring down your selfish ego."

As soon as the words left my mouth, I regretted it. Just because he came to know about one of my secrets, I shouldn't have brought up his mother. I looked up to see his reaction when I suddenly felt the wall on my back. He cornered me so fast, his hold around my wrist, shooting tingles down my spine.How did he do that so fast?

He placed both of his hands in either side of me, completely trapping me with his hard muscular body pressing on my skinny soft one.

He was gazing, no scratch that, glaring at me intensely. I tried to ignore the sexual tension, the crackling electricity between us and focus on our fight. But I considerably failed, his intense gaze rendering me flustered.

He slowly said through gritted teeth, as if trying to crush boulders with it, preferably me, his words heavy and angry," Don't. Mess. With. Me. I don't want to hear a single word against my mother. I. Will. Not . Tolerate. That. Understood?

I just gulped and nodded. Who am I kidding? He scared and threatened me . Of course I am scared.

He broke away from me and walked towards his desk.
I stood there, flustered, disoriented and breathing heavily, slightly cold and lamenting the loss of body heat and physical contact with him.

WHAAAT??? THE HELL AM I THINKING!!! NO WAY AM I LAMENTING ANYTHING.

The devil's advocate reappeared singing," The Heart Wants What it Wants".
Aaargh!!!

Trying not to make a fool of myself anymore, I stumbled my way to the chair he had first offered.

Shocked that I complied?

I don't want to die. Angering the lion in its den wouldn't be a smart move.

" This is the contract. Sign it or leave it. But keep in my mind, if you resign , I will surely make your life hell. So decide for yourself."

I hesitantly asked," What would be my salary?"
" Better than the current. "

I remained silent , nervously chewing on my lips. Its a bad habit I cannot get rid of. I could try and look for a new job but it might not pay as much.If I find one. Also Richie Bitch here is adamant, he would destroy my career. He is going to make my life hell either way, whether I choose to accept the offer or not. At least I would be able to pay for her treatment. I needed money. Fast. If Aiden troubles me too much,I could just slap him again. Yeah! I think its the right choice.

I pondered over the pros and cons one more time and finally breathed out,"I am ready to sign it."

One thing I am going to ensure Mister Aiden Salvatore, I might have accepted you job offer of PA but I will make sure it is on my terms.
You are going to regret it.

Taking a pen from his pen stand , I sign it without reading it .

Pretty dumb of me and I don't know why but I trusted him.

It turned out to be my next big mistake.

Halfway through the door , a thought crossed my mind. I spun around and asked the question which was troubling me from the start.

" Why?"

" What why?", he asked confusedly, his eyebrows furrowing in a hot sexy way.

" Why? Why are you doing this? Why are you going to such great lengths to get your revenge from me? Why are you even getting a revenge? I did nothing wrong and you know that. I was trying to save a life and you weren't listening. You were at fault and I know you know that. Then why? Why the stupid vendetta? Why couldn't you have forgiven me? Why are you being like this? Why with me?"

His gaze hardened into a arctic cold glare. His glare was so cold, he could have transformed milk into ice cream. He gritted his teeth and roughly said,"I don't appreciate you asking so many questions. I am not answerable to you. Remember that."

I just stiffly nodded and went back towards the door. Come to think , I actually halted so many times before the door. The door must surely be getting tired of the wait.

As the helpful soul I am, I tried to end the misery of the poor soulful door, his voice echoed again.

"Wait meanwhile you can see the newspaper."

He threw the newspaper at me. I attempted to catch it but failed anyhow.

" Nice catch.", he said sarcastically.

Picking up the newspaper from the floor, I took a deep breath to calm my irritation and read the headlines.

Bloody Cockroach!!!!
I was in the newspapers!!!.
