I have a slightly different take on the rumors. I think the rumors did affect Gauri. I think no matter how secure you are as a person and in a relationship , bull like that would annoy you. I think it annoyed her more because there were people actually saying that a lot of the stuff out there was coming from Priyanka's PR. Which is why you see Gauri completely distanced herself from her.
As for Shahrukh and Gauri and how they come across now as a couple , I don't understand what people expect to be honest. Do they want them to be all over each other at the red carpet or what! I mean these two have hardly indulged in that kind of PDA since the kinds came into the picture. Infact before these rumors started doing the rounds , people used to say Gauri doesn't even care for Shahrukh as she appears "cold" in public 😆. So basically you can't win. If you indulge in PDA which ain't their thing then it probably must be because you are trying to prove something and if you don't then it's because you don't care!
As for Gauri distancing herself from the bollywood scene , I'd disagree. I think it's just that they have a toddler now and also she is very busy with her work. She has always been extremely shy of the media. Only steps out when she has to. But it's good to see her opening up a little more on at least social media. She shares pictures every now and then on instagram and is quite active there. She still has get togethers at Mannat so between the two of them she is still the more social person I think.
