Unconditional love, justified betrayal, war fields, gorgeous costumes, larger than life sets and colourful songs; that's what Bajiroa Mastani' is all about!

When there is Sanjal Leela Bhansali in the house then one can expect absolutely no flaw in the work. Every detail is looked into very carefully and even the minutest of them all have been given a considerate attention to make the movie a flawless package.

A glimpse of the Story:

The film speaks about the eternal love of Peshwa Bajirao played by Ranveer Singh and Mastani played by Deepika Padukone. Even after all the bondages that the society has laid down; how the duos manage to stay inseparable is what forms the crux of the story. Kashibai played by Priyanka Chopra is Bajirao's lawful wife but irrespective of that, it is the love story of Bajirao and Mastani that the whole story is based upon.

However, the war sequences too has a major role to play but the tale of unconditional love between Bajirao and his Mastani and their fight against all odds to remain inseparable is the core essential of the flick.

About the characters:

Bajirao a.k.a Ranveer Singh absolutely nailed it! His hard work has finally paid him back in applauds. He proves it to you that he has all the calibre to fit into any shoe and walk the path with pride. Not even for one second does anybody feel that it is Ranveer Singh playing the character. The attitude, the bravery, the fearless nature of a true warrior is all portrayed so well that it becomes difficult to recognize that it is the funny entertainer Ranveer behind those huge shields.

Be it killing the enemies on the war field or romancing the gorgeous women behind those closed curtains; he has lived up to every part with zeal and sheer enthusiasm. His outstanding performance has been one of the high points of the movie.

Kashibai a.k.a Priyanka Chopra is just a gem to the movie. No matter what scene it is; with her spectacular acting skills she has managed to steal the show. Even though she shares less screen time as compared to Deepika; her performance is so powerful that one gets carried away in the flow. She has the power to leave you teary eyed and at the same time craving to see more of her. She has pumped all her energy in her character making it more powerful above all the other ones. By the end all you feel for her is immense pain and undue respect

Mastani a.k.a. Deepika Padukone is yet another jewel to the movie. Though she hasn't been that convincing with her acting but a few parts like the war scenes, the romantic moments; etc. she has lived up to them quite well. And with her amazing dialogue delivery she has managed to grab eye balls making you fall in love with her character.

High points of the movie:

All the songs are a perfect blend of colours, powerful music backed with meaningful lyrics. The dialogues are a cherry on the cake and we are sure one will go back home mouthing some of those amazing lines. Now coming to the costumes, all we can say is the women all dazzled in some dead drop gorgeous attires and the men too were fitting in well with the epoch. The huge sets topped the list in giving a perfect touch of the era.

All in all, the movie is a package of high end drama that comprises of quintessential love and sizzling romance with a pinch of perfectly executed hatred and spellbound performances. Lastly, a good does of inspiration is what one takes back home

This epic tale of love is a must watch for all those who wish to relive the historical era.

Well, if this weekend you wish to submerge yourself in a traditional cultural pool then this period drama is a perfect watch.
