Intact it was this very forum that claimed Aishwarya is a bad mother because she carried her daughter around even though she can walk...whats next?...That she doesn't exist?

Aishwarya was star even before she joined films. People need to learn the difference between what a superstar is and what an actor is - its not the same thing.

Yeah she has a flops, but so does Kareena...so does Sridevi...and so does a lot of other big stars including Amitabh. Also, let us not forget that Aishwarya was blacklisted by the Khans in the film industry so her options in films were limited in the 2000's...

and let us not forget that her choices in films were offbeat - she wasn't picking commercial films... films like Provoked, Umrao Jaan, Chokar Bali, Shabd, Raincoat, Guzarish- these are not commerical films and the audiences back then were quite closed-minded so they wouldn't go for such films.

But almost every time Aishwarya has done a good commercial film (the keyword is good) that film has almost always worked : Taal, HDDCS, Mohabbatein, Devdas, Hamara Dil Aapke Pass Hai, Khakee, Sarkar Raj Robot, Dhoom-2, Bride And Prejudice - all the films have been successful at the box office...ofcourse she has some Albela's and Kuch Na Kaho;s but why are we acting as if she has had zero success?

Its one thing to hate a star, but to deny their stardom completely is just crazy.

Exactly!!! She has done some pretty versatile roles. Some were successful and some weren't, but she received critical acclaim. And isn't this the case with every actor? Even the best of the best has had their share of flops. And like you said, people only focus on her flops, but people forget that she has some memorable hits to her credit.

That era had its own plus and minus. Yes, there was no overhyped media. Also that era did not have multiplex. Today, a film can that runs for 2 weeks can be a hit. Before, it has to run for weeks to become a hit (100 days used to be the bench mark). Word of mouth and repeatable audience were the only way for success. The only thing that saved these below average movies from sinking were the female lead's performance and they managed to make them a hit.

Writing essays about Aishwarya's 'off beat' film choices tanking in a regressive age doesn't make her any more a superishtar. 😆 It's laughworthy that people make it out as if she was actually offered commercial films.

Actual superstars like Sridevi and Madhuri made female oriented and off beat films work, even with flop actors like Sanjay Kapoor. And Queen Aish couldn't even make Guzaarish with so called super star Hrithik.

She is the reason the world exists. The day she dies, the world will come to an end.

If Mohabbatein is Aish's movie then why not Bajrangi bhaijaan Kareena's or Dhoom 3 Katrina's?

This is so true.
Mads and shridevi survived in era of no PR, no image makeover, no internet, no multiplex.

We know she wasn't...because she was blacklisted and thrown out of those "big" commercial movies, everyone knows that.

And can you please give an example of films Sridevi and Madhuri did in the 80's that didnt have a big hero and was still a big hit? I would love to hear about these imaginary films 😆

Mass appeal? 😆

---Yes. She achieved international fame more than any other Bollywood star has achieved in their careers. She is recognized worldwide more than Shahrukh or Amitabh. And she is not only recognized for her beauty but she is known worldwide for being a Bollywood actress.

This is why she was such a failure in drawing crowds to theatres!

---You are speaking as if she delivered consecutive flops. She has given hits and flops just like any actor. You have to give her credit for her hits also.

Mass appeal is to get a hit film even with a nobody like Sanjay Kapoor or a flop newcomer like Aamir Khan the way Madhuri did with Raja and Dil!

---Sridevi and Madhuri have given flops with big heroes as well. Being a superstar doesn't mean you can magically make any movie a hit. If that was the case, Aaja Nachle would have been a blockbuster. If a movie is bad, it's gonna be a flop no matter who's in it.

Merely winning online polls is not mass appeal.

---I never said anything about online polls. Her stardom and international fame is her mass appeal.
