There is no doubt that Salman is one of the biggest stars in the history of Bollywood and biggest at the moment.

But that doesn't change the fact that Madhuri was far bigger star than him during HAHK and it's her film.

Also the fact that she was paid much bigger amount - 2.75 crore for the film than Salman Khan (there are many articles about it, easily available on net), clarifies it for some delusional people that she was much bigger star than Salman at that time.

even before HAHK, she had superhits & blockbusters. And don't forget the fact that the completely Trash film Raja was one of the biggest hits of that year just because of Madhuri.

Fact: HAHK is a top grosser of Salmans

Fact: HAHK was sold on Madhuris star power. The songs were all her. Her lehnga in Didi Tera was a huge craze. She had like 3 almost solo songs in the film. She has by far the best role in the film and is he films hero.

These two things aren't mutually exclusive. HAHK is both their films but Madhuri was the star of the show. Just like Chalbaaz is Sridevi's superhit, even though it stars other huge stars.

Salman has many a times flexed his muscles at the box office and carried films with sheer star power. HAHK is not one of those times. He was clearly in the back seat. Theres no argument here .

Because before CE, SRK had given average hit Jab Tak Hai Jaan while Deepika had given superhit Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Ya seen that Star Power in same year with Anjaam getting flopped... Saajan coming before HAHK, bigger Star Madhuri couldn't even cross MPK's figures...

Dil Tera Aashiq considered as Salman's flop, but it was made on Madhuri's character 😆

So Aami's 1st Solo HIT Film, DIL was also not his succes coz of Madhuri the bigger star... as Atomnis pointed, even Raja Hindustani is not Aamir's hit as Karishma was bigger star than him 😆
