Chhaava box office collection: The Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's period film continues to dominate the box office, even in its fifth week. The film's impressive run has seen it achieve significant milestones, including surpassing the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal.

Chhaava box office collection

According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹8 crore on Day 31 and its fifth Sunday at the box office, out of it the business in Hindi was ₹7.25 crore and ₹0.75 crore in Telugu. The total collection stands at ₹562.65 crore (Hindi: ₹548.7 crore and Telugu: ₹13.95 crore). Chhaava was released on February 14.

In the process, Chhaava has surpassed the domestic box office collection of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 blockbuster crime drama Animal, which Ranbir Kapoor led. The film earned ₹553.87 crore in its theatrical run. The film, which received polarising reviews, was released in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

As Chhaava continues its box office run, it has achieved one more notable feat: surpassing the domestic box office collection of Siddharth Anand’s spy thriller Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan. The 2023 film had earned ₹543.09 crore during its run.

About Chhaava

Chhaava is based on Shivaji Sawant's Marathi novel of the same name. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is a biopic about Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky plays the lead role. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, along with Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Diana Penty in supporting roles.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the film during his address at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. He said, “Ye Maharashtra aur Mumbai hi hai jisne Marathi filmo ke saath saath, Hindi cinema ko ye unchai di hai. Aur in dino toh, Chhaava ki dhoom machi hui hai. (Maharashtra and Mumbai have elevated Hindi cinema along with Marathi films. And these days, Chhaava is making waves).”

My choice: I may report box-office numbers, but I don't believe in them...so, basically, what I enjoy about a movie I've watched will be my personal 'yardstick'...relative to that, Chhaava - basically - only scores in the acting department (which isn't "only" to me, but a very important ingredient)... especially Vicky and Akshaye confirmed why I like them very much as actors. The rest is just a story told...nothing else than a story among millions of stories getting told in different ways.

I was so Excited for this film before release. Major Disappointment from the Director. Vicky jaise Powerhouse performer ke hotey hue bhi, Director went into gaga land of romance while making this Historical Action Film.

The Vicky-Rashmika love scenes we so bad in between that it let down the film to another level. Overdose the woh imaginary scenes.

The only good about this film is 4 action scenes, which were very limited especially the opening scene of Vicky.

You see how much perceptions can have a different focus...mine never had been the action scenes...and, honestly, I already knew that the story would follow the 'flavour' of the political climate propagated in India.

I read everything available to me about Sambhaji Maharaj, his father and the relation to Aurangzeb...it was t h a t which gave me a major 'kick' before watching the movie...and I've to admit, that neither Vicky nor Akshaye disappointed me - despite of the changed historical story...

Just an example: I skip many South made action-heavy movies (even though liking certain actors) because of the way of 'hero-worshipping' which has become - throughout my movie-watching years - quite hollow to me... I'm not a person that would focus on the (often exaggerated) strengths of a hero but of what makes him human (and relatable).

I complained about Director, Story, Screenplay. Vicky & Akshaye were Brilliant as usual.

T h a t will always change according to the agendas of the people who exerce the power over other people (those wealthy/powerful enough to control what people have to believe)... at the moment it's the Hindutva-nationalism, the Ambanis and some others... However, knowing that, one can look at the content of movies according to what suits to oneself, right???

Honestly i don't like to watch history i love to read them. Films distorts them and i don't want to believe in what is shown. Those days hindus raja or mughals even peshwas cholas everyone were fighting for kingdom & religion and many died be it hindus or muslims every king wants to protect their religion, their throne. their people. They all had their own ways from generous to cruel. We learn not to repeat their mistakes & understand their sacrifices. That was 300-1000 yrs ago. In tdys time we protect those histories whether good cruel ugly. We do not use it for tdys time as time changed

Those days are different & now is different. These people are not solving tdys issue. Huge report on crimes that too on womens & kids even a born baby. Surge in prices & taxes those are not even solve & discuss and people are protesting over a different issue that was there for 300-400 yrs ago now the sudden love for it to be remove when everyone know Aurangzeb history

I just hope nothing happens to nagpur people. Prayers from Singapore🙏🏼

I think that reading different sources is a better choice than only watching movies...humanity is some thousands years old but you can bet, that the power plays have always the same mechanisms...we may be a very evolved species but some connections in our brains need to be looked at with a very critical eye...
