'Bandhan' to go off air

'Bandhan', that revolves around the relationship between a girl and an elephant, will go off air next month, say sources.

The show started in September last year. According to channel sources, "The show didn't get good numbers. The makers introduced a generation leap and brought in Chhavi Pandey and Mrunal Jain, but it didn't pay off." Rahul Tewary, show's producer, confirmed the news.

TV show Bandhan, which recently took a time leap with Chhavi Pandey stepping into child artiste Ananya Agarwal's shoes to play the grownup Darpan, and Mrunal Jain as the male lead, will wrap up. It had launched in September last year and the last episode of the same will be telecast on April 10.

Says a source, "The concept revolving around the bond shared by the central character and an elephant, failed to woo audiences. Also, it was becoming increasingly difficult to churn out episodes with the elephant." Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary confirmed the news.
