Akya FF-Never late to love,Chap 36-Page-42 Update

This story is quite different from the series we have seen
in the series. Although the character names are the same, the backdrop is quite
different from the original one.

Note: The names of characters, organizations and places are
fictitious and any resemblance to anybody living or dead is completely coincidental.

Characters & Background:

Dr. Ananya Rawat: A 26 yr old doctor in the Nadia Institute
of Advanced Medical Sciences, Bangalore. She has been an extremely brilliant
student and an outstanding performer throughout her career. Owing to her
performance she was handpicked by the institute and she is one of the ace
researcher in the Stem Cell Therapy Research Wing of the institute. She is an
orphan and her parents had died from cancer, first her father and then her
mother when Ananya was just 12yrs old. She had made up her mind to become a
doctor the day she lost her father and had been extremely focused on her goal.
She was brought up in a place called "Saraswati Jeevan Nilaya"( a home for the
orphans) in the picturesque town of Manali. Although life had been full of
challenges, Ananya had been able to make the best of it and worked hard towards
her goal and today she was grateful to be part of the country's most
prestigious institution.

Dr. Akash Saluja: A 29 yr old doctor in the Nadia Institute
of Advanced Medical Sciences. He is a handsome, charismatic and charming and is
the heartthrob of all girls in the institute. He is a good doctor but is not
part of the Research Wing of the NIAMS, and aspires to be part of it. He
cherishes the attention he gets from his female counterparts but wants to live
life on his own terms. His father had died few years ago and he is said to be a
replica of his father, Ajit Saluja but his mother believes that deep inside his
heart he is like his mother Aarti Saluja.

Dr.Raman Gupta: A 54 yr old world famous doctor, said to be
have missed the Nobel by a whisker. He is the man behind NIAMS and he had built
it in the memory of his Russian wife Nadia. He has a 25yr old daughter who he
dotes on but somewhere it hurts him that she never became the doctor he wanted
her to be. He is said to have the eye to identify talent and is said to have
hired the best from the length and breadth of the country and abroad. He
believes passion for work is the key to success.

Natasha Gupta: A 25yr old aspiring model and actress. Her
current interest is the institute heartthrob Akash Saluja. She is extremely
beautiful, good looking and has a body worth drooling over. Being motherless
for long has made her quite a spoilt child but she is known for her
philanthropic traits.

Dr. Rohit Mafatlal: A 29 yr old doctor in the Nadia
Institute of Advanced Medical Sciences. He is the best buddy of Akash .

Shefali Nair: She is in the administrative department of
NIAMS and is the best buddy of Ananya.

There are other characters which will get introduced along
the way.

Chap1-The Encounter

As the sound of the shrill noise of the alarm went off, Akash stretched out his arm to get at the alarm and throw it somewhere into the oblivion so that it would never come back to haunt his sleep again. As he outstretched his arm he was hit by somebody and he cried out "Mom , kya karti ho, thoda aur sone do na,bacche pe kuch to rahem karo".Aarti was used to his tantrums while getting up every morning so pat came the reply "Agar mein tujhpar rahem karne lagi to tu sara din aise hi ghode bechkar soyega..aur teri ajki appointment to gayee".Appointment!! now that ticked something in Akash as he jumped out of the bed and looked at the watch, it was already 7:00 a.m. and he had the appointment at 9:30 a.m. He really needed to rush before the Bangalore traffic catches up and then even the best driver in town could not make it to NIAMS by the stipulated time.

He rushed to take his bath ordering his mother to get his breakfast ready. He cursed missing out the early morning jog and promised himself to catch up during the evening when he was back. He had to rush up his shower as there was no time to soak in the hot water tub, he rued looking at the tub. How he hated this Mr.Raman Gupta for scheduling appointments so early in the morning, this old haggard does not get sleep himself and he does not let others live in peace as well. He smiled at himself as he recollected how he had manipulated Natasha to getting him an appointment so that he could join the R&D wing of Stem Therapy at NIAMS. He took pride in the fact that he could woo girls at his wish and make them do what he wanted. People said he had inherited his looks and personality from his father, the handsome Ajit Saluja. Little did they know that he had inherited his qualities as well, he had taken his father's teachings as his Bible. Like his father he also felt that he should his charm to woo rich and good looking women and use them to his advantage, to climb the ladders of success. Love for him like his father was a stupid emotion which made people weak and such emotions were potholes in the path to success. He was happy that Natasha was attracted to him and he could manipulate her and maybe who knows he might land up in the directorial board of NIAMS some day. So what if he doesn't love Natasha , he can always compromise. "Compromise!! That's what you think you can live with".Akash realized that he had voiced his thoughts aloud and Aarti had heard him. As she served his piping hot aloo parathas, with butter, pickle and dahi,she said "You can compromise for a day or two but not for the whole life with another person. The faade is bound to give away and then you will realize that its not the right thing to do. Your father might have taught you this as he married me just because he wanted my rich father's property but he did finally end up falling in love with me. He might not have accepted the truth to himself but subconsciously he did. At this stage you might not realize but one day you will and I just hope the realization is not too late when the person who you feel is part of you and your soul has left you alone"

Akash was not in mood for all this philosophy lectures as he quickly gulped down the parathas and said "Mom , I cannot let you go anywhere because of this super awesome parathas".Saying this he picked up his bag and ran towards his car. He made it just in time for the appointment and after a discussion on the projects Dr.Gupta told him that he can go to the R&D wing and ask for Dr.Ananya Rawat. She was going to guide him in this project. Akash proceeded towards the building whistling away as he thanked his lucky stars since he made it on time for the meeting and to top it , his guide was Ananya!!Ananya, he repeated as the name just sounded very good in his lips. He hoped she was also good looking and hot so he could have a nice time flirting with her. As he entered the spanky, well decorated office with large glass doors pretty different from the quite bland look of the hospital, a small smile appeared on his lips. He waited at the reception for about 45mins before the lady in question appeared. He was utterly dismayed looking at the person infront of her. She was nowhere to the hot and sexy woman he had been dreaming of. She wore a lemon colored full sleeve kurta over a grey colored jeans trousers. She was devoid of any makeup , her hair was braided into a tight plait and she wore black rounded specs covering her face. As Akash stood observing her head to toe a confident yet sweet voice rebuked him "If you are done checking me out shall we proceed to the labs Dr.Saluja".Akash came back to his senses and unable to form a reply just walked behind her. On crossing a few rooms he asked "Ananya, what is this project all about and what way are we going to work"."Dr.Rawat, that's what I liked to be called by colleagues and what's the hurry, you will get to know shortly" came the straight reply. Akash had heard people calling her Ms Brainy but he today coined a new name for her Ms Chashmish.
