Chanakya was best known as economist and advisor to Chandragupta maurya.

His original name was Vishnu Gupta.

Chanakya was a professor of political science and economics at the university of Takshashila.

He authored ancient political economic book named Artha Shastra.

He was a brilliant strategist

When the Nanda king was killed he ordered the body of the king remain uncremated and discarded.. It was a barbaric decision.

Instead of expelling nanda spies he locked them in the basement they were hiding in and ordered the place to be burnt down.. he didn't believe in giving second chances.

The last two facts aren't correct! It was Chandragupta who had wanted to humiliate Dhananand at his death but Chanakya stopped him saying that after death that enimity was lost and he deserved a funeral of a king.

Second he had never expelled Nanda spies or the Nanda minister Mahamatya Rakshasa. He had recruited them both in the Mauryan court for they were fighting for the cause of Magadha. This is the reason why he is regarded as a great mind!

That's true. Chanakya was not barbaric. He believed in giving respect to those who deserve.
