Hey everyone! 😊

This question had entered my mind in the past but sort of forgot about it as the storyline progressed.

In the beginning, I was really pissed off that Yuvraj and Suhani's relationship started off with Yuvraj being forced into it. I didn't like the fact that their marriage was based on lies, blackmail and deceit.
It started with Soumya hoodwinking Yuvraj into thinking it was her when he was actually getting married to Suhani. Then, it progressed to Pankaj blackmailing Yuvraj using the bank loan on the day of the marriage.
No person would like to be forced to marry someone due to circumstances. 😡On this issue, I feel sorry for Yuvi because Soumya and Pankaj strong armed him into marrying Suhani when he didn't want to.

Instead, I would have preferred if YuvAni's love story would have been more organic, where Yuvraj through repeated interactions with Suhani, starts falling for her despite himself. They could have put them together in a context where they have to interact with each other and that's where Yuvi realises the gem Suhani is. The forced marriage track forced Yuvraj to know Suhani without an option to exit. I don't like idea that people are coerced into a life-changing decision like marriage and start liking it. It rarely happens.

What do you all think?

it was required for this particular storyline ...though it was wrong and I pity Yuvraj and what he went through at that time...they were destined to be married somehow...and she was just going to be the one to change him...his outlook...his life.

Yeah...didn't like Yuvraj being forced to accept someone and enter into a relationship with that person for life. I would have wanted Suhani to know how much Yuvraj liked Soumya and she instead hurt him and her by hiding the truth and running away with Krishna. Through this hurt I'd have wanted them to become friends and somehow console each other and start getting to know the other well. And then gradually find that they like each other's company and their friendship becomes very valuable & important and then they understand how they feel for each other... something like this would have been nice for me.

Well, it was definitely forced, for Yuvraj at least. My question was more to do with whether we as viewers like this storyline. I agree with you that Yuvi is probably gonna forget the forced part of it. However, is it really right? People rarely like/accept things they are forced into.

I also think it's slightly insulting to imply that the only way Yuvraj would fall in love with Suhani is through a forced marriage. I would have liked it more had they interacted in an office/other social setting where Yuvraj finds his prejudices against Suhani breaking down and unexpectedly falling for her. Here, it's more like he's falling for her because he's forced to remain in close contact with her due to his marriage and hence is able to recognise her virtues.

Kind of like Namastey London, with the genders reversed. Although it was an entertaining film, I didn't like all the stereotypes they used when it came to Katrina's white boyfriend Charlie, Akshay Kumar's typical village bumpkin character or even her own whitewashed Indian character.

Why can't creatives be more realistic with the way they etch their characters and the story?

That would have been a great way for YuvAni to come together, Eli. Why do you think CVs don't take such paths with TV shows? Is it because the audience wouldn't accept a less dramatic way for YuvAni to fall in love? Is the audience just too hung up on unrealistic drama?

i too think about it. almost every soap opera follows the same formula of forced marriage. then the couple interacts and gets to know eachother and the cvs explains that thats how they fell in love.
but i dont find it very realistic because yuvraj was forced to marry suhani and he basically had no options, his hands were tied. you can feel how much frustation was boiling over yuvraj at that point of time. i firmly believe marriage should be a personal decision. no one even the god should not interfere in some ones personal choices. no one should force it. it is a completely different story that suhani is a good girl which is totally irrelevant from yuvrajs decision making. cause its yuvrajs life and he has every right to choose his life partner whether its a good or bad decision that is totally different thing. one should not dictate that. it is his life so let him decide that. i dont think just because suhani is good so it was okay that yuvraj was forced to marry her.
that was the marriage part.
now i think yuvraj was forced to marry suhani, so is not it natural that he should gather a large amount of frustration/dislike towards suhani? although suhani was innocent but it was she that was the caue of this marriage. then we saw after 2 months they were in love. i think it was rushed because it takes time to forget the past things and fall in love through interacting. i would believe that if it happened 1 year later. because nothing can stand infront of the onslaught of time and time ultimately heals everything.

Honestly even if it's forced...no one is forcing him to stay in it. Also he really didn't need to compromise and stay in the marriage just because he realized Suhani was innocent in everything. I think Yuvraj's problem was multifaceted. He got deceived by Soumya and she married Krishna so I think he gave up on that part of it. If anyone else was in Suhani's position, someone more liek the person Dadi wanted, it would still have been forced if her dad had done what Pankaj had made him do. I think what he was worried about post marriage was that she wouldn't meet Dadi's expectations look wise etc...but he himself never said that she's not good looking enough or asked her to change herself...eventually with time he realized that she's intelligent and capable of handling whatever comes her way and that set him at ease so he relaxed...and then he began to be attracted to her, naturally...and I don't think they spent so much time together that he had no choice but to fall in love with her...he could have escaped her and found love outside the home too...he was slowly drawn to her...and it's not just because of their proximity but of everyone's opinions of her too...everyone praises her his friends love her, his brothers & mom love her...and maybe he would have loved her before marriage too if he was MATURER...in those pre-marriage scenes he's like a diff guy...some young immature guy who's stuck in some imaginary shallow world...with his riches ..maybe he really did need a bit of a reality check...

So basically this close proximity is also due to his being drawn to something about her, some hope arising in his heart...the dark clouds clearing because otherwise there are plenty of ways he could escape her and just come back to their room at night to sleep and then disappear again in the morning.

Well it was required for the storyline because knowing the arrogant and egotistical Yuvraj, he would have never looked at Suhani. If Soumya was to marry Krishna, what would have made him stay with Suhani. Like he said in the dinner date episode, if not Soumya it would have been someone else. Yuvraj was only and only friendly with Suhani to get close to Soumya based on Sharad advice. They only time I felt he was nice with Suhani was when her sari ripped. He does not like to see people in pain so therefore he helped her out without it being a part of the plan. I wouldn't want Suhani to be a damsel in distress just for Yuvraj to get close to her. Pratima always wanted Suhani as a DIL but Yuvraj would have clearly said no if the loan wasn't involved. His thinking back then was really different and being arrogant his thinking would have not changed.

I didn't like it that he was forced but it was needed because if she, alone, wasn't in front of him, he would have never noticed her, which is sad. If it was Soumya and Suhani in front of him, his attention would have been on Soumya and he would have never seen Suhani innocence. Even if a parade went in front of him, he was so arrogant that he would have just gotten upset that the parade is coming in his way. It was after the marriage his mentality of what is good and what is bad changed. Like Suhani said, if I was pretty but mean would that make me a great Bahu, would everyone like me. This is what really made the wheels in his head turn, Soumya being pretty - cheated him. Suhani being not so appealing - took all his and DaRaMen rage with a smile. If they weren't forced to get married, his thinking probably wouldn't have changed because Soumya would have been the apple of his eyes and if she left he would have left to in search of a new life.
