Social Media is going gaga over Aryan Khan's directorial debut but do the numbers back it up? They don't. Infact it's Viewership numbers are dismal to say the least with just 2.8 million views worldwide in Week 1.

Week 1: 2.8 million views | 14.8 million viewing hours | Rank 4

Week 2: 3.2 million views | 16.9 million viewing hours | Rank 4

Week 3: 1.4 million views | Rank 10

Total: 7.4 million views

https://www.koimoi.com/television/the-bads-of-bollywood-ott-verdict-week-3-aryan-khans-directorial-debut-holds-strong-despite-56-drop-remains-in-viewer-spotlight/

Compare that to Bobby Deols Aashram:S3 that arrived earlier this year with 9.6 million views in Week 1 and 33 million views in 4 weeks. And that's just in India, not globally.

https://www.timesnownews.com/entertainment-news/web-series/bobby-deol-aashram-makes-history-leaves-behind-mirzapur-panchayat-and-every-2024-web-show-in-viewership-article-119541316

Indian Netflix shows that you might not have even heard of opened to higher number than BOB in the past year or two.

The Royals: 3 million views

Heera Mandi: 4.5 Million Views

The Kapil Show: 3.5 million Views/Episode

Infact, Suhana & Khushi's Archies did 5.2 million views in Week 1.

BOB won't even make the top 10 Hindi OTT Shows by Viewership 2025, which includes Stalwarts like Aashram,Paatal Lok & Panchayat but also unknowns like Kaneda & Khakhee: The Bengal Chapter.

The numbers clearly don't back up the lopsided hype. The show might be good/great, but the social media hype is clearly the PR machinery at work...based on numbers alone.

Why u compare Netflix shows with shows that are on free platforms smiley36

The first week data is for two days obviously it would be less . And the Khakee's Total views is 3M .How r u even comparing

Kapil Show is 3.5M/ episode? Matlab kuch bhi . It doesn't even trend in Top5 in India.

Anyways I don't know about views but BOB cultural impact is real

A) It's for the complete week. It doesn't matter what day it debuts, the numbers are for the whole week.

B) Aashrams views are also just for India, not globally.

C) https://www.koimoi.com/television/october-ott-verdict-week-3-the-great-indian-kapil-show-steals-1-spot-from-taaza-khabar-s2-with-52-more-views-a-surprise-entry-at-2nd-spot/

The Kapil Sharma show was Top 10 in Global Netflix shows for a long time....not just Non-English shows.

Many episodes did 1 million views within 24 hrs and 5 million views + in 1 week.

https://www.imdb.com/news/ni64577470/

D) Does the Royals also have a cultural impact, a show I've never heard of, considering it had a larger viewership than BOB in week 1?

My question is simple. Where are the numbers? 7 million views in 3 weeks is Pathetic. Suhana did 5.2 in 1 Week with a flop show.

Interestingly I heard people discussing Archies, even if negatively, while no one around me has ever mentioned Bads so the cultural impact is debatable for me on the ground but that is just my personal experience.

Nielsen posts data weekly 14sep to 20sep . BOB released on 18sep.

Ashram was on a free platform .the views aren't also tracked .These are random articles. They don't have source. (Even Netflix says they don't make their data public bt Neilson is still trustable)

The Kapil Sharma show lifetime views were less than 5 million. 1 million per week not 24 hrs lol

Royals dint have cultural impact but it was popular n sex scenes/thirst trap help

2hr movies n 7 hr show are different. Check how Neilson counts views .

BOB is gonna be one of the most watched Indian shows on Netflix . Trending in its 4th week

Ask genz or anyone from 16 to 25 in India. The show isn't for universal audience

All these excuses won't change the fact that it has 7 million views in 3 weeks. The "Popular" series like Panchayat, Family Man, Farzi etc are all over 30 million views and nobody rates then as having a "Cultural Impact"

Even a MID series like Heera Mandi had 10 million views in 2 weeks.

While Netflix originals that nobody has ever heard of like the Royals, Black Warrant, Saare Jahaan Se Accha all are in the same range as the Hyped BOB.

The numbers are just not there. Another example of Fake Social media hype driven by Bollywood PR & Bots.

All these numbers are assumptions. Netflix doesn't make its data public. Online shows are about perception n impact. PC's PR claimed her prime show citadel was most watched 💀

You use Nielson for BOB but Ormax for all these shows😂 According to Ormax BOB already crossed 10M .

And Panchayat is 16 M on sasta prime ( 12M Netflix user n 60M prime users r there in India)

Just checked 1.5 M views black warrant n 2.6 M Saare jahan se . And it's same range 😂

Only Panchayat n Pataallok in same range but the impact is more bcz it's on Netflix

Guesstimates sure, Assumptions No.

There are tracking softwares like Neilsen, ComScore, Ormax and others that use data straight from your devices along with other analytics to come up with these numbers. They are quite accurate to be honest and match the list that Netflix or other streaming giants release at the end of the year.

Box office numbers are calculated in a similar manner. Nobody gets data from every single theatre in real time, all the time.

PC will always PC. 😂
