Sukhinder, Pammi and Brij are sitting in the hall waiting for Dev..
Brij slowly starts whispering something to Pammi
Brij : Didi.. Aap thoda apna gussa kabhu mein rakhiye. Yeh banda bade kaam ka cheez hai..
Pammi : Ab maine kya kiya Brij..
Brij : Didi.. Woh khate waqt aap kyun aise baat ki usse.. Mera matlab hai mujeh patha hai ki aap mujhse bahut pyaar karti hai lekin..
Brij said with sugar coated words even though he knows that Pammi blindly believes to whatever he says. Pammi looked at him questioningly as to why she has to take the insults against him to which Brij replied
Brij : Usse thoda ache se peshayiye.. Humare business ko bahut fayida hoga.. Woh moi mamuli insaan nahi hai.. Woh DEV SINGH KHURANA hai
He stressed Dev's name and before he could continue Dev came to the hall and sees everyone waiting for him.

DEv : Thank you soo much Mr. Handa for such an amazing food.
Sukhinder : Then you have to thank Geet not me because she is the one who has prepared it.
Sukhinder said with a pleasant smile while pammi visibly frowned hearing him praising Geet.
Dev : That I will do. If you dont mind can I ask you something personal?! I mean when I asked about Brij Mrs.Handa got upset, I understand ... But
Pammi : Arey nothing like that Mr.Khurana.. I mean I cannot take anyone pointing out my brother. That's it.. Other than that I have no issues with you.

Dev : Ohh.. Thats so sweet Mrs.Handa. Otherwise I was worried that I made you upset. I mean you have invited me to your house and I thought I have insulted you in return. But I am happy that you were not upset.

Dev smiled pleasantly at Pammi and hoped that Pammi would buy his words and erase all the negative thoughts about him in her mind. The same thing has happened. Pammi thought Dev is actually a great guy and he thinks well about her and her family.

Pammi : So you were asking something Mr.Khurana.

Dev : Yeah. Actually I want to ask about Geet. I heard her calling you guys chacha and chachi but why is she staying here.

Dev asked them with stone in his heart because he knows that it is actually them staying at his Monhinder uncle's house and so technically he has to ask this question to them. But he want to see Sukhinder's reaction. He by now got a hint that Sukhinder supports Geet but he want to confirm it without having any doubts.

Before PAmmi could react Sukhinder interferred because he knows that Pammi would never say the truth.

Sukhinder : Its actually we staying here Mr.Khurana. This business was actually started by Geet's dad, my brother. After his death I am taking care of it. I am just the guardian of this property, Geet is the actual owner. In few days she is going to turn 23 and I am going to handover the business to her. Then she will decide what she wants to do with this property.

Sukhinder finished and gave a knowing look to Pammi who inturn seemed pissed off with Sukhinder's answer.Dev got impressed with Sukhinder's reply and all his doubts about Sukhinder were now cleared.

Before Dev could continue he got a call and after talking to the other person he frowned and said

Dev : Adi.. You know that I dont like staying in hotels and whenever I go for any business trips I always stay in any of my friend's house. And I dont know anyone here that is the reason I asked you to make the farmhouse ready. Now you are telling me that it will take few more days for the renovation to complete. How can you expect me to stay in that boring hotel for these many days.

Adi : * * *

Dev : Fine Adi. But make sure you get it done as early sa possible.

Dev cut the call but the frown on his face is still there.

Sukhinder : Kya hua Mr. Khurana. You seem to be worried..

Dev : Ahhh!!! Nothing Mr.Handa. Its just that my farmhouse is not yet ready for staying and I have to stay in hotel for few more days. But let me tell you I seriously despise this hotel food. I mean however tasty it is but still it can never compete with home-cooked food. What do you say!!

Sukhinder : True Mr.KHurana. Good to know that a young man like you is soo attached to his home.

Meanwhile brij nudged pammi and signalled her to say something. Pammi couldn't understand what Brij is trying to say and with continuous nudging she got irritated and screamed
Pammi : Kya hai brij
Brij gave a silly smile and glared at Pammi while Sukhinder and Dev are equally confused with Pammi's act..
Brij then started speaking as he has decided now he cannot expect Pammi to say anything
Brij : Woh.. Mr.khurana main kya soch raha tha aapko hotel main rehna pasand nahi, aapke farmhouse pe toh koi kaam chal raha hai aur aapko hamare ghar ka khana bhi pasand aaya.. Toh main kyaa soch raha tha.. App kyun na hamre ghar par hi rahe jab tak aapka farmhouse ka kaam poor nahi hota.. Waise toh aap hamare project keliye hi toh aaye hai toh itna toh kari sakte hai hum aapkeliye
Then he gave a knowing glance to pammi who is in a shock state including Dev and Sukhinder.
Then he again nudged pammi who then came out of her shocked state and said
Pammi : Jii haa Mr.khurana.. I mean we don't have any problem with you staying here.. You can consider us as your family friends.. We would be obliged if you accept our request..
Dev(st) : Devv.. Lucky boy... I think you have seen your face in the mirror first thing in the morning.. First I thought I should never look my face as the first thing in the morning after getting such a mind blowing noo noo face blowing welcome..
He remembered NT's punch and suddenly shook his head with the memory
Dev(st) : Soch na bhi math Dev.. Warna raaton ki neend udjayegi.. Agar kisi ko patha chala Dev Singh Khurana ko ek ladki ne maara toh teri izzat ki toh dhajjiyan udjaayengi.. Achi bath yeh hai ki mere bina koi kaam kiye mujhe Geet ke baare mein jaane ka mauka mil raha hai.. Waise mein Nakul kaka se mil hi raha hoon Jo mujhe ab tak ki saari baatein bataye phir bhi I can't let this chance go out of my hands..
Before Dev could accept his request sukhinder intervened
Sukhinder : pammi What are you saying?! I am sorry Mr.khurana she didn't mean to offend. I mean I. Know you expect your privacy and we don't have any problem eve if you decline our offer..

Sukhinder very well knows why Brij has invited Dev but he doesnot want Dev to think them as oppurtunists.
Dev (st) : Yeh kyaa chachaji..aapko itni jaldi kyun hai mujhe ghar se nikaalne ki..
He then pouted in his mind but he is also Dev Singh Khurana and he knows how to get things done according to his wish.
Dev : What is this Mr.khurana?!? Why are you apologizing.. I am glad that you people think of me as your own and invited me to stay at your place.. I am happy to accept your offer unless you have a problem with me..

Now Sukhinder is in thoughts. He cannot back off now when Dev himself wants to stay at their place so he said
Sukhinder : No no.. Mr khurana we would be glad to have you staying at our place.. You are always welcome.
Sukhinder smiled at him while Brij is relaxed and is having a winning smile while Pammi also smiled even though there is confusion in her mind.

Brij (st) : Ab toh is Dev ko impress karke uske aane wale projects ke supplies lene honge.
Dev : Okay then Mr.Handa I'll go to office now and come in the evening with my luggage. See you in the afternoon at KC.. You remember right we have a meeting today..
Sukhinder : Off course Mr.khurana.. I'll be there..
Dev : By the way when I am going to stay here I don't want you to call me Mr.khurana..It makes me feel wierd. You can always call me Dev

Sukhinder : In that case even I dont want you to call me Mr.Handa. You can call me uncle.

Dev and Sukhinder smiled at eachother. After a while Dev bid bye and left.

KC
Dev reached to KC almost after 3 hours after leaving HH. He is all the while lost in some thoughts and by the time he reached his cabin Adi almost banged into him as if he is in some hurry..
Dev : what happened Adi.?! Why are in so much hurry?!?!
Adi : Hehehe.. Si sirr.. You had a meeting with project engineers and supply managers in the morning.
Dev : Ohhh s***.. How could I forget?!? Where are they Adi?!?
Adi : Sir!! They are waiting for you in conference hall..
Dev : OK let's go there..
Dev entered the conference hall and apologized to them for making them wait.
Everyone : That's fine sir..
Dev : So guys why do you think I have called you for this meeting..
Guy1 : Sir we were informed that you want to know about the progress of our projects..
Dev : Exactly.. So first of all I want each one of you to tell me about the projects you are looking after..
Every one explained their projects and Dev noted the guys whom he thought could be involved in the frauds..
Dev : Okay guys you can leave.. Get me the progress reports of the projects you are handling by this weekend.. I'll go through them later.
After everyone left Adi still stood there waiting for Dev to speak..
Dev : Adi.. I think this rahul khanna and sanjay bakshi are the traitors. The projects they are handling together are only having problems and obviously the suppliers being Handa group. And they are smart enough to not to do the frauds on all the projects they handle..
Adi : Sir then what are you waiting for. We have enough proof to get them arrested so why don't we call the police..
Dev : Noo Adi.. Dont you think it is weird that they are doing these frauds for these many days and no one came to know about them. I mean look at you, you came here only few days back still you got to know about the fraud.. I think there is someone behind them who are working in our company in higher profile. Either it can be our GM or the CEO.. I think we have to find the main person..
Adi : Right sir..
Dev : Anyways I have asked them for the reports right. So let them bring it then we will see.. You leave this Adi.. I will take care.. Send the architect who is going to work for Handa project to my cabin..
Adi : Yes sir...
Dev left to his cabin and after a while he heard a knock and asked the person to get in.
Person : Good Afternoon sir..
Dev : good Afternoon.. And you are Mr...
Person : Tarun Saxena sir..
Dev : yes Tarun.. So you are the one who is going to work for Handa's project. I hope you already know that we have a meeting today with our client to discuss their requirements.
Tarun : Yes sir..
Dev observed that Tarun is all the while looking down and also looking worried and skeptical.
Dev : what happened Tarun?! Is there any problem?! If I am not wrong you are the one who has applied for transfer right?!
Tarun seemed shocked and asked.
Tarun : Yes sir.. But I never thought you would be knowing about this.. GM sir has already rejected my application.
Dev : Yes Mr Tarun.. We already have enough staff in our Delhi branch. Its not like we cannot accomodate additional staff but the thing is we need you here..
Tarun : Sure sir. I understand..
He clearly seemed to be disappointed and Dev again started speaking
Dev : So may I know the reason behind you sudden transfer application!!
Tarun : Sir!! I am actually from Delhi and got placed in KC through campus interview. I had signed a contract for 2 years and I got placed in Mumbai branch after my training.
He then paused and got uncomfortable while Dev understood that something is bothering him. He then stood from his seat and came towards him and sat on the desk infront.
Dev : Relax tarun and tell me your problem.
Tarun smiled with the support Dev is showing and started talking
Tarun : Recently my dad had a heart attack and he is in hospital right now. Even though doctors said he is out of danger my mother is so worried. She is not able to handle everything alone and I am here doing nothing when my parents are struggling there.
By the time he finished he started crying while Dev felt pity for him and instantly hugged him and started saying soothing words.
Tarun was first shocked with dev's reaction but then he too seeked the comfort. After parting from Dev Tarun again started
Tarun : They have no one apart me sir. I am their only son and I couldn't be with my father at this point of time when he needs me the most. I can't even resign my job due to the contract and I don't know what should I do now?!?!
Dev : Simple tarun. Go home.. Pack your bags and leave for Mumbai.. I think right now your parents need you more than KC.. So just leave everything and go to your parents..

Tarun got shocked after listening to Dev and wiped his tears and spoke
Tarun : But sir what about the project. No one is free at this moment to take up a new project.. Everyone are busy with their own projects and
Dev : Tarun we can surely find a way. If not I can hire someone in your place.. Simple!!
Tarun : SIRRR!!! You can't do this.. I mean I am the only source of income for my family. Already my father faced so much for my studies and...
Dev : Relax relax tarun.. Why are you getting hyper?!? I meant I will hire someone for now to handle the handa project and your job is going no where. You be with your parents for now and then you can join the Mumbai branch later if you are interested.
Tarun : Sir.. I would love to work for KC and I promise I will never leave KC unless you dismiss me..
Dev : Then just go man.. Goo...
Dev smiled and pushed Tarun who in turn came forward and hugged Dev saying thanks before leaving the cabin.
Dev after a while called Adi to his cabin
Dev : Adi.. Give an ad in the newspaper for the interview of architect post
Adi : Yes sir. But why sir.. I saw Tarun leaving office.. Is there any problem sir?!
Dev : Actually Tarun has an emergency so he has to leave to Mumbai.. And also Adi I want you to go back to Mumbai.. I mean you know now the problem is big and I have to stay here for few more days. I know dad is there to take care of kc in my absense but I dont want him to take much stress..So I want someone in Mumbai to fill in my place and who else would be better than you.
Adi felt overwhelmed with the trust Dev is showing on him and before he could get emotional
Dev : ab Adi bhai.. Please dont turn emotional now and by the way I dont want to become prey to Pinky's curses for separating you both for these many days.

Dev finished with a wink at Adi while Adi blushed hearing Pinky's name.

Dev : OH MY GOD!! Adi Bhai.. I know you are quite shy types but look at you.. You are actually BLUSHING..

Before Dev could tease him more he got a call from the receptionist informing about the arrival of Sukhinder. Dev told the receptionist to send him to his cabin.

Dev sent Adi to continue his work and then Sukhinder entered his cabin.

Sukhinder : Hello. Dev..

Dev : Hello Uncle.. Come.. Have a seat..

Sukhinder sat and Dev ordered coffee for both while sukhinder asked about the meeting.

Dev : Uncle. I am sorry but we cant have our meeting today. The architect who is supposed to work for your project had an emergency and he has to leave to Mumbai.

Sukhinder : WHAT?!! But then Dev what about our project?!

Dev : Dont worry uncle I have already decided to hire a new architect in his place and we have an interview scheduled next Monday. As we never faced such a situation and disappointed our clients, I really apologize and promise you that KC will never its clients down. If it is not for some emergency I would have never let the architect to back out in the last moment. I hope you understand.

Sukhinder : Yeah. I understand Dev.

Sukhinder is visibly disappointed but decided not to show it infront of Dev. Dev guessed it and thought to clear his doubts.

Dev : Uncle, I promise, you will not get disappointed with us. I know the meeting did not go as planned but the final result will be beyond your expectations. Trust me.

Dev said with oozing confidence while Sukhinder relaxed after listening to Dev.

Dev : Actually uncle, lets do one thing. As we hiring architect for your project only why dont you conduct the interview along with me. We usually dont give such offers to our client but as this time it is our mistake I am inviting you. If you have some other work at that time then I can understand.

Sukhinder : No Dev beta.. As of now I dont have any appointments at that time so I will come. I dont have any doubts on your calibre but as you yourself has invited me I would come

Dev : Thanks uncle and sorry once again.

Sukhinder : Thats alright Dev.. I leave then.

Sukhinder smiled and left.

In the evening Dev called and informed Sukhinder that his room is already booked for three more days so he will shift to HH after that.

( Guys, I have planned for few Dev-tara scenes before Maan entry. But as you guys are eager to have Maan I had to drop the idea and also changed the track. Now Dev will be shifting to HH later. I hope you dont have any problem with that)

Finally Monday has arrived and candidates for interview are waiting for their turn. After few minutes the interview process started and the candidates have been called one by one.

Meanwhile, amidst of busy Mumbai traffic, a man with deep brown eyes, sharp nose and perfect m-shaped lips and is shouting on the cab driver to drive fast while checking the papers once again. The cab driver got irritated with his continuos nagging and finally reacted

Driver : Agar itna hi jaldi hai toh aap hi gaadi chalayiye.. Main kyun??!!

While the man glared at the driver for the tone he used. The driver then gave a glance to the man behind through the rear view mirror and got an idea of the man's temper. So he quickly corrected his tone and said..

Driver : Toh kya saab!! Aap dekh rahe hai na traffic kaisi hai.. Aise main kaise hum gaadi teez chala sakte hai.

The man controlled his anger and said in a sober tone.

Man : Acha teek hai. Par jitna ho sake utna teez chalana.. Mujhe jaldi hi Khurana Constructions pahunchana hai. Abhi toh interview shuru bhi hogayi hogi. Its all because of one man I got late to the interview.

He seems to be very angry and meanwhile the cab stopped outside KC. The man hurriedly paid the driver and rushed inside the building. Upon reaching the reception he asked about the interview. For a while the receptionist got lost in his deep brown eyes which right now seemed to have some fury in them. His perfectly gelled thick black hair and beautifully sculptured jawline were like added assests to his already stunning masculinity. She doesnt have time to check his attire as she is all the while lost in his face otherwise she would have known that the royal blue shirt he is wearing is perfectly hugging his body displaying his strong biceps and the firm black trousers completed his perfect features. When he didnot receive any response from the receptionist, he tapped on the desk twice which brought back to this world. He then got to know that the last candidate was being interviewed and the process is almost over and that he is late.

The man gave a frustrating groan and asked the receptionist to talk to her boss regarding his interview and says that this job is very important for him. while the receptionist gave a top to toe look to him and called Dev to inform about the new candidate meanwhile praying in her heart to let the man get selected.

After a while Dev told the receptionist to send him in for the interview while the man took his papers and headed towards Dev's cabin.

(Guys!! I dont think I have to tell you who the guy is!!!😉😉 )

NOTE : I know you would have probably expected more of Maan but I promise from next update you will find more of him. I am sorry if the update is not upto your expectations. I actually forgot few things of this update and thought I will get the interview part directly. When I started writing I got to know about the things I have to add and to make Maan's entry ASAP I had to cut few of Dev-Tara scenes also. But dont worry I will add them later at the right time.😉 I hope you enjoy reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it..😃
