She ran towards the staircase, skipped some steps and then continued to run through the corridor. She dropped her pouch but luckily it was a pouch not the-usually-used-spiderman-pencil-box. She picked it up and this time held it tight between her notebook and her hand. She then quickly flipped off her white canvas and ran to open the glass door. But before entering she recollected something and came back only to be pushed by her junior's in every side. She some how found her shoes and arranged them in a particular pattern which was- to put one on top of the other. This was to ensure, her shoe could easily be differentiated from other shoes with similar colour and patterns.
She then opened the door and went inside and was welcomed with lavanya ' s expression which almost spelt " You? And that too here?"
And khushi gave back " Yes! " with a nod.
Riya smiled and motioned her to sit beside them.

" Chalo Chalo. This is madumati mum's period. She'll kill us if we go late." Khushi said looking at the door where the boys had crowded in order to EXIT first. She kept pulling lavanya ' s chair to make her stand but nevertheless she stayed in her position.
Riya had managed to reach outside even with the boys pushing and pulling everyone.
" I'll just send this request to... Yeah. Done. Lets go." Lavanya now pulled khushi in one hand and khushi quickly picked up her notes too.
" Lavanya. You forgot this." Khushi said giving lavanya her note and box back.
" Thanks, re. Now where is Riya?"
" Look there."
" Oh no!"

" What happened? See we are not getting our history results today." Lavanya said trying to cheer her up.
" My shoe. I had just bought it this Sunday. " Riya said sniffing.
" How many times have I told you to keep it properly and not just throw them away. Like lavanya does. " Khushi said making Riya all the more guilty.
" Shush. Khushi you are spoiling her mood more."
" Yeah right. Ok. Ok. Did you check the shoe shelf properly?"
" No." Riya said wiping her tears.
" Tum chodo. We'll check." Lavanya said pulling khushi along with her towards the shoe shack.
It was all empty except two pair of shoes. Lavanya picked one of them up and went towards riya who seemed to be looking somewhere else .
But before she could hand it to riya, a hand, sorry two hands came and snatched it away from her.
" Chorni. Ye mera shoe hai." said akash running off only in his socks.
" Chor hoga tu." Lavanya said shouting at him towards the direction he ran.
" LAVANYA. Usse chodo. Bring the other one." said khushi consoling riya on the other hand.
" Dekho. Is this yours? Please say its yours." Lavanya said looking around to check whether any other of her classmates had stayed back.
" NO." said riya becoming more sad by each second.
" Arre yaar. What do we do now?" said lavanya in a small voice looking at khushi who seemed to be in deep thoughts.
" Ok. Riya you wear this shoe and go to class. We'll return with your shoes OK?" khushi said making riya stand up from the seat opposite to the shoe shack, towards the other side of the corridor.
" But but..." riya said looking at khushi and lavanya who seemed to push her towards the stairs.
" No But but. Go to the class and wait for us there. If madhumati maam asks about us, give some excuses ok?" said khushi.
" And please copy the notes properly otherwise we'll donate the shoes to someone." said lavanya cheekily to notch up her mood.

Riya then climbed up the stairs carrying all three of their belongings and on reaching the class she realized Madumati mam's absence. THANK GOD' she murmured to herself. But just after she sat on the seat she heard the corus "GOOD MORNING" and herself spoke it standing up. She just prayed the period to end. Otherwise if they came in between, well GOOD LUCK for having a better day, she said to herself.

" But khushi why did you send her with that shoe? Its anyways not hers. And besides she could have been with us na? Agar daat hi khani hai to ek saat kha lete hai na?" Lavanya said walking alongside khushi towards the computer lab.
" Without notes we wouldn't be able to write tomorrow's test. We have a test tomorrow, you remember right? And i think who ever's shoe that was, must have worn riya's in confusion. We just have to find out the class which came to the lab prior to us. SIMPLE."
The lab was empty and hence both of them checked the timetable which was put up on the wall behind the last computer.
It was 6th C s class. SHIT. My sister's.
" Hey, isn't that payal's class." Lavanya said looking at the timetable.
" Yeah. Unfortunately .Ok. Come on lets go."
" Ha ha. I can't believe riya's foot is that small! " said lavanya shaking her head and moving out of the lab.

Both of them climbed the stairs, went through the corridors and finally found the class. It was in the third floor next to the stairs, towards the right most of the building.
Both of them moved their heads towards the door of the class, hiding behind the adjacent wall. They listened to know whether the class was empty or some teacher was there.
" Its malathi mam." said lavanya in a whisper.
" Mein nehi ja rahi."
" I know you are scared of her but she isn't that bad, you know. Take every chance and drop every fear." lavanya said moving her hands as if to portray something.
" Stop giving me the copy-paste quotes from google. See! Besides, i already did the first part of our plan, now its your turn. GO!"
" Haw. Anyways, i know why you don't want to go there. Please sort out your differences soon ok?! And payal doesn't,..." before lavanya could speak another word, khushi pushed her towards the entrance of the class, earning her a glare from malathi mam and fits of laughter from the students.
" Umm. May i come in maam?"
" You are already in, aren't you? Now tell me what you want?" malathi maam said, glaring at her and shouting at the students to SHUT UP'.
"Maam actually a shoe has been misplaced and i think, sorry we are sure that someone from this class has done it. Not intentionally of course." Lavanya said pulling khushi along with her inside the classroom.
" Ok. Has anyone of you worn the wrong shoe? Check it soon?" malathi maam shouted.
When malathi maam continued to write on the board, lavanya quickly waved her hands towards payal who waved back smilingly. But nor did khushi and nor did payal look at each other even for an instance.
Lavanya just sighed and shaked her head looking at them both.
Lavanya and khushi saw a boy coming towards them with a rather guilty and sad face.
" Ha ha. Riya's shoes even fit boys." Lavanya whispered in khushi's ears and khushi giggled at that.
" Sorry didi. I didn't know..." the boy said looking down .
Lavanya looked at his ID card and said.
" It's ok. Ravi. Next time don't wear your shoe in such a hurry. Ok?"
Ravi nodded and smiled at both of them.
" We'll come in the break to pick up the shoe ok? And don't worry. We have your shoe. " said khushi patting Ravi's shoulders which made payal go all green and in the end sad.
Lavanya just smiled looking at both. SISTERS. She sighed.
Khushi and lavanya both said a quick " Thank you mam" and left for they classes.
Both of them climbed down the stairs cracking jokes on riya. But before they could turn towards the corridor, they spotted principal mam coming from the other side of the corridor.
Both of them quickly entered the girls washroom beside the stairs.
" What is she doing here?" Lavanya said striding continuously as if she was nervous and at the same time irritated.
" She is on her rounds. As usually. And why did we have to hide here?"
" We don't have the out pass. Do we? "
" But she never catches anyone only because they are walking in the corridor?"
" But what if we are caught without them? She is unpredictable you know."
" Fine. But why do you dislike her so much?"
" She is biased. Anyways, come one I think she must have gone. " lavanya said angrily and moved towards the door.
But before khushi could go towards the stairs, lavanya pulled her back.
" We'll have to check."
They heard some steps from the stairs. Someone was climbing down it seems.
They quickly hid behind the wall separating the washroom and the stairs. What if it was a teacher?
But it wasn't.
" Hey. Arnav. Did you see principal maam?" Lavanya called out to the boy.
" Yeah. She was climbing up the stairs. But..."
Lavanya pulled khushi along with her muttering a small " Thanks" on the way.
" OooKk" Arnav said amusingly and followed their path.
Both of them halted just before their class. Lavanya pulled khushi with one hand towards the wall adjacent to the door.
" May be this is a bad idea. I think we should bunk the period. Besides only few minutes are left." Lavanya said with a frown.
" What? Come on. Mam wouldn't say anything."
" What if she does?"
" For that we'll have to check first." Khushi said moving towards the door.
But lavanya pulled her back.
" Mein nehi ja rahi."
" Oh. Come on lavanya."
" Kya ho raha hai, yahan." They heard madumati mam's voice. right from behind.
Lavanya and khushi both looked at each other in fear.
" Mam vo..." Khushi started but was interuptted by the teacher.
" Tum bhi khushi. I didn't expect this from you." But before she could make both of them more miserable for their behaviour all of them heard someone.
" Maam. Principal maam is calling you." but after looking at khushi and lavanya ' s face he added an 'immediately.'
" Tum do no ko mein badmein deklungi. " the teacher said looking at both of them who had their head down.
The teacher returned to the class, picked up her books and went away with arnav.
Not before adding a " You both will not enter my class." Look to both of them.
Both of them smiled and entered the class.
" Sorry, yaar. Only because of me you both got scoldings. " Riya said guiltily looking down.
" Arre. Budhu. Aisse Kyon bol rahi hai. And besides we had so much fun. Right, khushi?"
" Yeah. Totally. And we also found your shoe. We'll go in the break to get it ok?" Khushi said with a wink.
But before they could sit back, the bell rang and signaled the beginning of break.
" Chalo. Lets leave now itself. Otherwise the boys will go to the ground." Lavanya said pulling riya outside the classroom.
" Boys?"
" Ha ha we didn't tell you about your shoe thief did we? " Lavanya said giggling.
Khushi giggled and followed them.
But before she could turn towards the left to climb up the stairs she dashed someone.
It was Arnav.
" Oh. Sorry." khushi said rubbing her forehead.
" Apology accepted!" Arnav said picking up the books he was carrying.
" Hey aren't you supposed to ask me sorry?"
" I didn't dash. You did." he said sharply looking at her as if she had done a big crime or something. He then began to move.
" Umm. Thanks for saving us." khushi said calling out to him.
" I didn't save you. i just did my job." he said without turning back.
" Haw! Arrogant. Gamandi. Both mean the same actually. Argg. I wonder who made him the junior school captain. " Khushi said mumbling to herself. She sulked all the way up to the third floor.
Her mood had clearly gone down, several notches.
