When Brahmashira hits Uttara, it does not kill Parikshit right away.
What happened next is skipped by the MB but described in the SB. Lord Krishna enters Uttara's womb (NOT the Sudarshana Chakra 😡) and provides a protective cover to the child. Parikshit is described as seeing the Lord.
Then, as per MB, when Parikshit is born (- Parikshit is not stillborn ) he looks around for the luminous figure that had engulfed him during the past months. Not being able to find the luminous figure and feeling devoid of the protective force that had sustained him in his mother's womb, the infant Parikshit feels the the Earth is not a good place to live and gives up his life.
That's when Drauapdi Subhadra and other women raise their wail and Krishna rushes in.
As Krishna begins the resurrection process, the child instinctively feels the same protective force once more, near him. Feeling re assured, he opens his eyes and sees the same form that he had seen in the womb. Parikshit comes back to life.
This resurrection process is not described in the SB.

Yes can we read more of Madhavacharya's work???
There are more than one Kripa in epic. Kripa the kulguru dies sometime in Vanaparva , this news reached Yudhi in exile.Originally posted by: Nandiniraizaada
Didn't kripacharya perform duties of kul guru in HP post war???😆
So Vairochana avenged the killing of his pitamaha by Karna by taking it on his descendants? Being a fan of both Bhima & Karna, I feel like Balaram - unable to pick one from the other. OTOH, Bhima's descendants grab what once belonged to Dury b4 being gifted to Karna.
One thing interesting - Ghatotkacha's dynasty is recognized as a Pandava kul? I thought that even though Ghatotkacha was a Pandava, technically, he & his family were outside the Pandava i.e. Hastinapur/Indraprastha dynasty. So there were 2 Pandava kuls then - one of Janamejaya and one of Vairochana?
And they must have migrated quite a bit - going from Himachal to Anga. Or was Anga a prized trophy that kingdoms from the Himachal/UP/Uttarakhand region had to possess? 😆
The Kul guru Kripa is definitely the BIL of Drona .Originally posted by: Nandiniraizaada
@ananyacool so was kul guru kripa the brother in law of drona? Or warrior kripa??
