Katrina has been in the industry for a decade now .She's considered the most bankable female star of recent times...Katrina managed to deliver a hit with every actor ( be it Khans and even the younger lot like Ranbir ).
Dhoom 3 is her 10th hit in a row, her last flop was yuvraaj and that too way back in 2008. She has worked with all the Khans which is considered quite an achievement .
In terms of popularity no rivals can ever get close..
-She has maximum number of endorsements.
-Won sexiest asian women 4th time in a row
-most searched celeb online
-Very much famous for good looks which is a plus for an actress.
-The recent most powerful celebs list which Shahrukh Khan topped, Katrina was the only female in the top 10.
Although theres no such confirmation from media and or any other sources that Katrina has been dethroned... Fangroup of Deepika is claiming she has taken the no 1 spot... really ? but how? I fail to understand .
An actress like Katrina who has been consistent through out shouldnt be compared with someone who has given series of flops and just 4 to 5 hits? Sorry guys but only few hits with less popularity like Deepika's is not my criteria of giving someone the top spot. Year 2013 of deepika vs so many successful years of Katrina ? is that the way to judge it ? I personally feel Deepika's success is temperory which will fade sooner than expected
Now coming to another issue that is meaty roles and short roles ...
Katrina has done few short roles in male oriented movies but at the same time was lucky enough to get good roles as well.. ( Namastey london, Newyork, Rajniti, Mere brother ki dulhan etc) .Even in jab tak hai jaan and Ek tha tiger she had decent roles.
Deepika had good amount of roles in movies like cocktail and Ramleela ( which was a love story) but other than that she too has done short roles ( housefull 2 , race 2 , arakshan ,chennai express and many others) ..In this department both are same...
in terms of looks and popularity Deepika is no where ...
So the moral of the story is ,that in a male dominated industry a female actress has to deliever hits to get recognized and considered for good roles..Katrina has been doing it consistently..
