Where is the romance we all ask, are JaJo ready to romance though?

Many comments in my post and others I see complains about how the romance between JaJo has been delayed. I was in the same boat till my overused bheja gave me some enlightment. We are even willing to see some passion or chemistry or hug or a dream sequence between them. Is the couple ready for romance or any kind of intimacy? The journey that started with extreme hatred, prejudices and disrespect for each other, can it turn over and be lovey dovey so quickly?

Many got annoyed that instead of JaJo romance we are seeing JaRuq romance. What I saw today was not romance at all. Infact it was a friend trying to console his traumatized friend. In their entire life they have had no other friend or any other person who understood them so well. Jalal was able to win as a king in the court, but as a friend/husband he failed Ruqu. She has no one other than him, holds her khaas title to heart and cannot imagine living out of harem. Jalal was extremely calm without any reactions and Ruqu's complain is how come Jalal did not use his power to hurt AK because he hurt begume khaas. She has been a king's wife for many years, but does not understand that sometimes kings have to take tough decisions. A king cannot really have a private life, his kingship is above any other role. All Jalal was trying to do is hug her friend to make her trust him again. Even during RG fort issue Jalal went very silent. His head was going in all direction of getting the fort back and also teaching the samdhi a lesson. Nobody knew what was in his head, Jo knew something was going on but Jalala told Jodha that she would never be able to comprehend what's going on his brain. This is the same Jalal who is listening to everyone, but has an evil plan going on in his head. He did not let that good for nothing samdhi snatch away his fort, is he going to let the cheapo snatch away his most precious friend? One more thing I wanted to point out that neither Jodha would want Jalal to distance himself from Ruqu, nor Jalal would like it if Jodha asks him to stay away from Ruqu. What I am saying is that both of them care a lot about people and their feelings. Hence neither of them will like Ruqu to be out of their life. Ruqu will have her special friendship with Jalal always and might also develop one with Jodha after MA/AK finish digging their grave (they are on double shift and expect to finish the work soon).

A few folks questioned that if there is such a deep friendship then why does Jalal need to even bother about Jodha, why love her? The thing is though that in JaRuq relationship, Jalal is the giver and the stronger one. He has always pampered Ruqu who is a high maintenance many times. What does he get in return? He gets some good intelligent discussions, shrewd advices and someone who understands his thought process. Does this relationship look complete? Jalal is someone who has never gotten any kind of emotional support. He has been instead left alone to heal himself. He has never shared his childhood wounds or current ones with Ruqu. Infact he didn't even share the AK bribing Tasneem's parents issue with her. But, he was able to share lot more with Jodha and has many times told her about his troubled childhood. Men like to be pampered by their mothers, sisters and wives. But, Jalal did not get that pampering from any of his relationship. Somehow his heart tells him that Jodha might be the one, hence he demands neck massage, shoulder massage and what not from her. So girls relax, Jalal does not have a perfect relationship and hence never had chest pains before.

Jodha started her journey with deep hatred with three big wounds. The first one due to Jalal's men robbing Kali Ma temple, second was being forcefully married to an enemy and the final one was not getting her due respect in Agra or Jalal's life. Jalal got closure to all three of her issues. The Amer track was to heal Jodha's first wound. The body heat and pregnancy track was to heal Jodha's third wound. Jalal went above and beyond to make sure that Jodha's honor was intact during this track. The tasneem track finally heals Jodha, as Jalal is sacrificing his most precious relationship just like Jodha had to sacrifice her dream. Did it make sense for Jodha, the lady with so much pride and honor to love a man who had erred her so deeply? I feel now that all these tracks were only to heal Jodha and redeem Jalal from all the pain he had caused her. Its not like Jodha has not given anything in return to Jalal other than her upteen bhashans. She pampered him with a special lunch, reached out to him when he was in deep pain due to BB and gave him the most unique gift that got him love of his subjects. Ruqu could never do all this for Jalal in her 10+ years of marriage - is JaRuq relationship complete then?

The only issue now left to be solved before the love progresses is for Jalal to make it clear to Jodha that she can never take Ruqu's spot, just like Ruqu cannot take her spot. Jodha is acting like a typical serial heroine who is willing to sacrifice everything just so that everyone else is happy. She is a person who cares deeply about other people's feelings. She can never build her relationship by breaking someone else's. Its only Jalal who has the key to unlock the twist. Ruqu would never believe Jodha right now, every sacrifice that Jodha makes will also be looked suspiciously by Ruqu. But, Ruqu trusts Jalal and hence he will have to eventually let Ruqu know that 'She will always be the best friend but Jodha is someone that he loves'. She will yell, throw tantrums but eventually she will be happy for Jalal and also develop friendship with Jodha. He has already let Ruqu know that Jo is her new friend, its not long before he admits to her that he loves Jodha. JaJo are meant to be with each other, no matter how much they try or may be Jodha's tries - she cannot stop herself or Jalal.

Girls we have waited so far, we can certainly wait for the most purest and divine love story to start!

Wow. You write so beautifully. 😊 Agree with everything you said. 👏
If Jodha tries to put some distance between her and Jalal, I think it would be because she feels guilty she inadvertently caused Ruq to suffer humiliation in front of the whole court. Though what happened wasn't her fault at all. I mean Ruq supported her on this child marriage issue as well. Also, from the looks of things Ruq is going to accuse Jo of trying to break her relationship with Jalal. So maybe Jo feels she has to give some time for everyone to settle down and not rock the boat too much.

Thanks buddy for your kind words and applaud.😛
I can totally relate to Jo kind as she is someone who is transparent and cares deeply about other peoples feelings. She is not the one who would build her relationship by breaking someone else's, against her conscience. Its upto Jalal now to explain to Ruqu that she will be his friend, but his love is only Jodha. I hope Jo understands that only Ja has the key to solve this problem, the more Jo tries the more it will get twisted. As Ruqu does not trust Jo yet, but will certainly listen to Ja

Thanks for the applaud Yukthi!😛
The wounds have to be healed, trust needs to develop, respect needs to be restored - only then love can start. I think they are very close to that stage now. Ja just needs to take care of Ruqu now...

Hi Meghana

So is this means that I have to wait for a Hug?😃
Ha ha.. jokes apart.

Very nicely put aritcle. Great analysis.👏

Jalal-Ruku:

You are right. They are just BFFs. If they have not been married, they would have been like siblings (hope this does not cause any scandal). And you are also right in saying that Jalal is the giver and Ruku is the recipient. He took her responsibility and gave her what she needs: malika-e-khas title. That is her identity. She will always be a begum to Shehenshaw (MA is astute). She always saw him a shehenshaw, not a man. He takes care of her like he takes care of his mother, sister and his kingdom. He takes care of her like he he will take care of an overgrown child. This is an unbalanced relationship. She gives advise to him on the matters of administration, but so does a minister. He does not need a wife for it. Not that anything wrong in taking advice from a wife, if they are capable. Ruku is capable,
no doubt about it. But what else is there in their relationship? What is it that is exclusive between them and them alone? This relationship is already saturated. Nothing else will grow from it. It will always remain this way.

Jalal-Jodha:

To any relationship to flourish and grow, both have to in equal footing. As you said, these two started from an extremely difficult state of mind. Both with hatred, anger and what not, started at the extreme end of the spectrum (not even a neutral ground). Jalal, by removing Jodha's fears, healing her trauma and giving back her identity, brought her to his level. Jodha, by stimulating his humanity, his emotions, by seeing the man behind the king, bought him to her level. Jalal helped jodha to gain new perspective, showed her different layers and shades of people and situations. Jodha helped Jalal to find his roots, his purpose. Whatever she did to Jalal was for a man, her husband, not a king. This Jalal recognizes this. In short, they are a better person when together, they are helping the each other to grow, they stimulate each other's intellect and emotions. Now they are on an equal ground, a neutral ground. They can only go towards the positive side of the
spectrum. Now this is a relation which will always flourish and keep growing.

Soil is fertile, seeds are sown. We are waiting for the rain.😳

Good post, Meghna. Like I said yday, Ruq s is a permanent part of Jalal s life, that s a fact, however much we all might like it or not. But she did not hold Jalal s heart as a wife or lover, but only as a friend. Don't we all have friends & best friends & carry on that relationship even after marriage to a loved one. Do we drop our friends or lose affection for them just bcos we found the love of our life? We dont na, we compartmentalise & manage to give something to both friend & the lover. Jalal s position is same here reg Ruq & Jo. Only point of difference is his BF is also one of his wives along with his soul mate & love being another wife. I guess this part is why most people are confused & not able to understand the relation.

If we view these relations keenly & look back at old scenes too, we ll get the difference. In yday s scene itself , we could see Jalal is the stronger half in JaRuq rship. Ruq needs comfort & reassurance from Jalal & he provides that. The main drawback here is Ruq s fails to understand that Ja may require comfort too & he might also be feeling pain in this situation. For this lack in Ruq I wont blame Ruq entirely either. Ja has told repeatedly that he doesnt possess a heart nor can love & Ruq had come to believe it bcos Ja has not given her a chance to ever view his heart in regard to their rship. This itself tells us glaringly where Ruq stands in Ja s life. She might be clever & intelligent & might also be somewhat politically shrewd too bcos Jalal has seeked her advice many a time & acted on them too. Jalal is no fool to act on nonsensical advice as we all well know, so that means Ruq s advice is sound enough for Ja to follow. But emotionally, the connect is lacking.

Jodha on the other hand, though her rship with Ja started on intense hatred on both sides & also she was forced to marry him, has with time managed to find out that Jalal indeed does have a heart, very much feeling for people & things. Therefore she understands Jalal is very much human too & feel pain too & is in as much need of comfort & solace as the next man. This is the big difference btwn JaRuq & JaJo rship. Jalal has somewhere realised in his heart that in Jodha he had found someone who he can share his thoughts & feelings with & even his pain. She can ease his pain & he neednt be the strong, silent man around her but on the contrary he himself might be soothed & healed from his pain by her. So here is the emotional connect that Jalal had been missing since his childhood & which is very much needed for a human. And as Jo is not a retard either, even mentally they connect, so JaJo rship is becoming a equal rship from both sides. That s why they become soulmates while Ruq can only be a best friend cum political advisor to Jalal.

This is my take on these 2 important rships in Jalal s life. Dunno how much sense I made 😛 & sorry for the very long post 😉 😆 .

Escellent analysis meghana

You have written a detailed summery of both relationships of Jalal...but my problem is different...I find romance completely missing in this serial...According to you they both need to be on mutual and newtral ground with each other only then they can fall in love...In that case creatives should not have given us so many passionate scenes earlier without finding that ground earlier...and here I am talking abt many many such scenes like farmaan scene, sword fighting scene, arti scene and lunch date etc...after giving such scenes and raising our hopes high , since the last few weeks I find a kind of platonic relationship between them...They both look completely comfortable with each other and their is no awkwardness between them...They are not at all selff conscious or conscious of each other...Is it possible that you are completely indifferent to someone once you found attractive?...It means you have fallen out of love with him/her...This is like going backward in relationship...e.g. in yesterday's episode both were completely comfortable with each other...On the other hand Ruqlal scene was passionate...

As far Jo sacrificing her happiness for Ruku's sake, I find it absurd...It is a 16th century love story and she should stop behaving like the OTHER woman...
I want a Jalal who is mad for Jodha and a Jodha who is falling for him inspite of all saying NO again and again...

Hi Ela,

You are absolutely right about the earlier scenes. They were passionate. That is because Hate is a strong emotion. They both hated each other and some what on equal standing then too. Now they do not have any passionate feeling. The last passion I saw was during from Jalal when he saw Jodha dancing. He was in lust with her then.
I too hope that we get see some positive passion from both ends. 😳
