Well I have tried to find out a solution rather than shouting against Sanchi. As statistics says a very big part of the young community (reference added in topic) today suffer from some or other mental instability. We should seek solution to this huge problem 😊.

The only way to make every scheme of sanchi to fall flat is not to trust her anymore.
Even if she says I have changed, one should not trust her until the good behaviour lasts for a long period. Beware of her. Aware of her moves.

Especially anandi, Jagya, ganga and shiv. they should be extremely careful and not to take her at face value for some time.

True leaves; as I said "Forgive, but don't forget"

Many believe that the Sekhars spoilt Sanchi. However I think she is mentally unstable.

Shiv, Sanchi and Mahi all three are children of the same house. Why she only is different?

It's high time Indian people should be aware of mental health of children. May be CVs would show this aspect too 😊

You know what in India before movies like Darr, Bazigar, Bhool bhuliya etc people were not aware of mental health of a human being at all.

Words like Schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder, Mania depression disorder, bipolar disorder, depression etc are known to even kids in western world. In India we still stick to only punishment rather than finding out the root cause of the problem.

u r right Debbie but still dis will take a lot of time for ppl to accept it... sex protection, condoms, ipills yeh sab aaye bt it tuk time for ppl to accpet dem openly... still gay n lsebian r yet to be accepted... live-in realtionsips hve nw cum under the protection of law but still needs to get acceptance by ppl...

I guess Sanchi was spoiled as she is the youngest and the only girl, and clearly boundaries were rarely set in her upbringing (if ever). I mean, in her introductory sequence, her college room was ridiculously large, did not have standard college dorm sort of furniture, and even had a fairly large-screen TV!

If I had to classify her as having any personality disorder at all, it would be narcissism. From Wikipedia:

Symptoms of this disorder, as defined by the DSM-IV-TR include:[1]

  • Expects to be recognized as superior and special, without superior accomplishments
  • Expects constant attention, admiration and positive reinforcement from others
  • Envies others and believes others envy him/her
  • Is preoccupied with thoughts and fantasies of great success, enormous attractiveness, power, intelligence
  • Lacks the ability to empathize with the feelings or desires of others
  • Is arrogant in attitudes and behavior
  • Has expectations of special treatment that are unrealistic

The cause of this disorder is unknown; however, Groopman and Cooper list the following factors identified by various researchers as possibilities:[2]

  • An oversensitive temperament at birth;
  • Excessive admiration that is never balanced with realistic feedback;
  • Excessive praise for good behaviors or excessive criticism for bad behaviors in childhood;
  • Overindulgence and overvaluation by parents, other family members, or peers;
  • Being praised for perceived exceptional looks or abilities by adults;
  • Severe emotional abuse in childhood;
  • Unpredictable or unreliable caregiving from parents;
  • Learning manipulative behaviors from parents;
  • Valued by parents as a means to regulate their own self-esteem.

I reckon the bits in red apply particularly well to Sanchi.

Unfortunately, narcissism has no cure. But I reckon some good psychotherapy could still benefit Sanchi. Though therapy is a fairly taboo subject (people still look at me weirdly when I tell them I attend sessions, and I live in the West), so I kind of doubt that the CVs would cover it.

I do agree that it is high time that people became more aware of mental health issues in general! I just don't think the sorts of mental health issues you have cited necessarily apply to Sanchi. Just my two cents. 😊

Sanchi needs medical attention. There is something seriously wrong with Sanchi.
Read it somewhere that, persons tend to get super angry if they are not absolutely sure about themselves. For example, if somebody tells you that 2+2 is 3, you may feel pity towards that person, you may not get angry. But if somebody tells you that you're a bad friend/sibling/spouse and if you already have self doubts on the same, then you might loose your temper and shout at the other person..basically you don't want to hear anything about the matter and through rage you can quickly shutup people's mouths.

Good analysis brick.

Usually when we see Sanchi type of person in life we call her EVIL.

If she is one among our own blood; mother, sister, daughter, husband; we try to relate to their thoughts and we call them "mentally unstable".

If you ask psychiatrists, they never call anyone evil or mad. They simply don't use these as they believe these are negative terms. They would call this x/y/z disorder. Sanchi's disorder belongs to the category of aggression. There are many who are into depression and would keep themselves isolated, won't talk much blah blah blah. In agression a person could commit upto a murder; in depression he/she could even commit suicide.

Every human being has a scope of improvement provided the family tries positively and he/she him.herself copes 😊

Sanchi's aggression is coupled with a scheming mind. For me she is not mentally unstable. A mentally unstable person cant plan the way sanchi plans. In this way we can even defend Hitler. So what if killed a few lakhs and initiated second world war? He was mentally unstable. He needed just love and understanding. Sanchi would have destroyed everything that would have come between her and Jagya. She almost achieved that. Even Nirbhaya killers were mentally unstable. So what if they brutalised her? We cant blame the family as this girl tries to harm herself if they dont give into her whims. I really feel for Ira and others as they have to deal with a person like sanchi.

Nice analysis Sujal. May be her category is narcissism.

As far my own experiences says; most chronic psychiatric patients never completely heal. (Please note I am no psychiatrist, however belong to a family of gold-medallist doctors) Their abnormal behaviour gets controlled to large extent under medication however they are always prone to the same condition even in future.

Whatever they showed in "Bhool bhulaiya" i.e. a complete cure is very rare. One of my distant auntie had a very similar disorder. Infact when I saw that movie, I felt as if it's her. The family treated her with the best available doctors in India for many years. They did not abandon her. Finally she committed suicide one night by setting fire in the kitchen. The whole family was in danger of getting burnt too. However they survived.
