I was interested in watching this show because of history and I am interested in the whole story about them since it actually did happen in the past. I did find the love story interesting at first, but lately I can't seem to get past the fact that she's in a harem and he has so many wives and the fact that other women get pregnant like ruqaiya and even the maid in the earlier episodes which he thought was going to be his child, he's sleeping with all these women, collecting all these women and I just cant seem to focus on the two, I guess I find it really disgusting and I believe in monogamy. Though I get that it is real history and thats how it was in the past, I don't know, its such a turn off that women are collected like that.

At times, it is tough to digest but I love AkDha anyway. They are sooo hot together and are just sizzling!! Its easier to ignore his other relationships when this one is sooo amazing! My advice would be to take it as a historical (with most facts utter rubbish) and just concentrate on a thriving love story amidst the intrigues of the Palace 😊

i can imagine how u would feel, now when i think abt JA movie i think even akbar(hrithik),must have had a harem and slept with all those women even after having jodha(aishwarya),so yes it is the truth, but since its a love story abt JODHA-AKBAR,i am sure we will get a time when akbar will only be jodha's(well in this serial at least)...so try to relax and enjoy.😊

It was accepted back then, not just among mughals but also hindu emperors. Udai singh of mewar had 25 wives.
All over the world.

Even though in Christianity polygamy is forbidden.. Kings did have more than one woman in their life. Like henry xiii, he annulled his marriage with his wife..to take another..

Yes, I know it was accepted all over the world in the past, and even until now with some muslims. But yeah, its a little bit of a turn off to watch an epic love story and then see that she's just another girl in his harem. Also, the way ruqaiya talks about being one of the wives, its very degrading to women, that he just spends a bit of time with a new wife, then forgets about her and they are just there in the harem. I guess i'm a bit of a feminist, I feel like every woman deserves men who will love and respect them and just be their partner and not make them feel lonely. -- Anyway, yeah, its hard to relate to that, and not feel weird about the whole thing.-- 🤔

it is 16th century, but forget it for a moment, what would you say about a more advance era.. polygamy was strong enough upto 19 th century, higher cast born men were allowed to marry several times, even age difference was not a barrier in many cases..

The show is exactly about a man who has many flaws in him and how a lady comes in his life and transforms him completely. I am sure the day he falls for Jodha he'll not touch any other woman😳

I agree with you, hellopuppy. I didn't like the fact that when one wife was sharing with him her pregnancy, he was lost in wonder about the gift from another wife.

Yes, the love story taken in isolation is fine and dandy and thoroughly enjoyable but taken in tandem with other facts, I doubt he loved any of the wives. 5000 women in the harem? Granted all were not wives or concubines but still it is sad that women were used as mere objects.

And even after he supposedly falls in love with Jodha, he goes on to have other children (historically ie) with Salima and other concubines.

i understand ur point, but its true, he had several wives and concubines, but there were very few he was close to, and jodha was one of them, its a serial and not a film where they can just focus on one thing..in a serial they have to focus on various angles of his life..although he had so many wives i guess jodha was the only one who stole his heart, he loved them all but jodha had a special spot in his heart because of her character..that is how the kings lived their lives, a woman was more of a commodity than a human being..its later that monogamy laws took place, but in islam u can still have upto 4 wives with the permission of the first wife i believe..well whatever the case may be i am loving the character of akbar and this show!
