| "I can't go around blowing kisses at parties." She has one of the the most happening tasks on her hand. On Zoom's Page 3 she talks about the celebs in filmdom and connects with the audience as naturally. Yet she maintains that she is not a page 3 personality. Not many know that she adopted a young girl's education responsibility because she liked the mischievous look in her eyes. Sapana Patil spoke to Neha Sareen about her life, career and likes.
| Neha Sareen shows her prowess on 'Page 3'
| How was your life before Page 3 happened? I had been doing theatre since childhood. I studied theatre for three and a half years in the US. I have also been modeling for brands like LG, Samsung, Nirma and Clinic All Clear among others. I did music videos for DJ Aqueel's Kehdo Tumhe and Woh Pal Yaad Hai. How did Page 3 happen? After doing many modeling assignments I wanted to do something different and challenging. I didn't want to do just any work that came my way. I auditioned for Zoom. They liked me and soon, I started doing Page 3. How did you prepare yourself for hosting this show? Since I have traveled extensively on theatre assignments, I am well exposed to audiences. That's probably why I can gauge audience's response. I am natural on the shoot and that gives me comfort in performing. Do you follow the script or add your creativity to it? I do follow the script. But I add character to it. If I am not comfortable with some lines in particular, I adapt myself to it. Otherwise, I will not be able to engage the audience. Are you critical of the celebs or are you nice to them? (giggles) I am nice to the celebs I like! Which celebs do you like? I like Brad Pitt. Among Indian celebs I like Aamir Khan and Sushmita Sen. So will you catch the first day first show of Mangal Pandey? (laughs) I don't know if I will be able to catch the first day first show. But I will definitely watch the film. Are you a party animal too? No! (she screams). I am not a party animal at all. I can't go around blowing kisses at parties. What is the one thing you liked about the film Page 3? It made me open my eyes. Earlier I wasn't this alert. This film has made me realise that people shouldn't be taken at face value. Are you doing videos or any other assignments on hand? I just did a shoot for Mochi- designer foot wear and Cyberjammin night wear. You have been an editor of a quarterly magazine dedicated to the Kargil cause. When and how did that happen? My mother runs a theatre school called 'SPEED' (Speech, Personality, Evolution through Education in Drama) at Pali Hill, Mumbai. SPEED had organised a workshop called 'Expressions' which had children of all ages write on the Kargil war. I contributed to that magazine for some time. Do you want to become a page 3 celeb? To be featured on page 3 does indicate that one has achieved something in life. In that context yes I want to be featured on page 3. What does charity mean to you? I believe charity begins at home. Charity to me means saving a puppy from rains by laying it in a safer place. |
