Shilpa Anand is a popular model and an actor down South and sister of popular actor Saakshi Shivanand. She has done many popular commercials with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan and popular brands like Sunsilk and Ponds with the likes of ad whiz like Pralhad Kakkar, Ravi Udyawar among others. She has also done popular Kannada films like Vishnu with Vishnu Vardhan and Sarvabuna with mega star Shivraj Kumar. Now after doing some small films like Iqraaar By Chance she is on the threshold of stardom with the thriller Bloody Ishq which is releasing soon. We spoke to the tall and beautiful actor about her new film. Some excerpts.
What is your character in Bloody Ishq?
I play a girl called Radhika with a physical illness and has a relationship with the hero played by Akash Singh who plays Nirvaan and there is also another girl Tripta Parashar who completes the love triangle in the film. I am not at liberty to disclose more. The story revolves around the three characters and showcases the love trap which Nirvaan lays for Natasha, hiding the fact that he is married to Radhika. The love mystery unravels as destiny has something else planned for Nirvaan.
What is the USP of the film?
The USP is that most of those associated with the film are newcomers like me, Tripta, Akash and the director Aroop Dutta who has directed the much acclaimed Indie film Madholal Walking. The film is produced by Akash's parents to launch him in a big way and they themselves are acting in the film.
Reportedly there are a lot of steamy scenes in the film.
Yes. But the script demands it and has been shot very aesthetically.
Are you going to continue doing films in the south?
No. Now I will be concentrating on Hindi Films.
And Television?
Let's see. The remuneration should be good.
What next?
My Movie titled Alert-24/7 starring Sanjay Dutt, Ruslaan Mumtaz and Raveena Tandon. I will play an investigative journalist. I play a daring journalist who doesn't have any fears and can approach anyone with her questions. I will be seen opposite Ruslaan Mumtaz. The movie is a take on corruption in politics.
