Anugraha S Nambiar given 48-hour ultimatum to apologize to filmmaker Vijay Kumar Rajendran amid Resort dispute

Anugraha S Nambiar, a Malayalam actor, has been issued a public notice by Vijay Kumar Rajendran's lawyer, demanding an apology within 48 hours for defamation. Failure to comply will result in legal action. Producer AB Sharon is also involved in the controversy surrounding the Tamil web series "Resort."

Following accusations of non-payment and verbal abuse by Vijay Kumar Rajendran's wife, Nakshatra Murthy, Anugraha S Nambiar recently apologized to "Resort" producers, Global Villagers. Nakshatra Murthy then called out Anugraha for not extending the apology to her husband. Consequently, the couple's lawyer, J Jerom Joseph, has issued a public notice.

A portion of the notice reads: "It has come to the attention of Our Clients that Ms. Anugraha S and Mr. A.B. Sharon (hereinafter referred to as "the Noticees") have, through various social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram and other electronic/media channels, published and circulated false, baseless, malicious and defamatory statements against Our Clients."

The public notice outlines the specific statements made, which include allegations that Vijay has "cheated and failed to make payments," alongside other claims that are described as "unverified."

Our Clients categorically deny all such allegations as false, frivolous and defamatory, made with the sole intention to tarnish their image, reputation and professional standing in the eyes of the public. It is hereby clarified that: Mr. Vijay has no contractual or financial obligation towards the said persons as alleged. Any statements made to the contrary are completely false and misleading. The Noticees have acted irresponsibly and maliciously in making such publications, further reads the notice.

What did the notice say

According to the notice, these "defamatory acts" have inflicted significant mental anguish, reputational harm, social embarrassment, and professional damage upon Vijay and Nakshatra. Consequently, civil and criminal proceedings have been initiated against Anugraha and Sharon in a Coimbatore court.

Through this Public Notice, the Noticees are hereby called upon to: Immediately cease and desist from making any further defamatory statements; Remove/delete all defamatory content from all platforms; Issue an unconditional public apology within 48 hours from the publication of this notice, it reads.

Vijay and Nakshatra declare intentions

Vijay and Nakshatra have declared their intention to pursue all legal avenues if their demands are not met. This past week has been quite dramatic for the team behind the JioHotstar web series "Resort," following numerous allegations made by Anugraha against Vijay, Nakshatra, and the producers. Anugraha subsequently removed her videos after a period of back-and-forth, citing her inability to afford a legal dispute.
