Music director Viju Shah has expressed his concern over the presence of his father's two original songs belonging to the former 'Don' in director Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani's forthcoming 'Don'. The 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer had two songs - "Khaike paan banaraswala ..." and "Yeh mera dil pyar ka deewana ...". The former was picturised on Amitabh and the latter had Helen dancing to its tunes. This is to recall that the original music of 'Don' was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji and Shah, son of Kalyanji.

So, Viju Shah wants the filmmakers to give credit for the songs to his father. Apart from it, Shah regrets that music directors Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy should rework the songs. Astonishingly, neither director Farhan nor producers Sidhwani have informed Viju Shah about the incorporation of these two numbers in their 'Don'. However, Sidhwani claims that that the producer has obtained the rights of the song from SaReGaMa (HMV) as the right to the royalty lay with the music company and not the music director. However, Sidhwani admits that the two tracks have been used in the film, and assures Shah that Kalyanji-Anandji will be given credit for the songs.
