Time and again... we have seen the forum go ablaze with anti Arnav and anti Khushi sentiments resulting from the treatment episodes receive!!
I as a viewer have always been unbias to both... I dont hold a soft corner for either.. but see them as the characters that breathe life in the story of IPK.. so I like to objectively view and analyse what I see..
For me, Arnav was initially exasperated with Khushi as she with him... he disliked her for daring to speak back and challenge him and she hated him for his arrogance and disrespectful behaviour.
Somewhere along the time...her challenging behaviour became the thing that started getting him attracted to her.. and this along the line turned into a physical attraction as well! They portrayed this as best as they could on indian tv through the diwali almost kiss!!
While Arnav felt torn between disliking her and being attracted to her and hating himself for loosing control... Khushi was baffled by his sometime hot and some time cold behaviour.
But somewhere along the time she figured that he wasnt as bad as he tried to be which was a big deal for her who only liked to surround herself in the company of good people.
Arnav acknowledged his attraction and the possibility of something more when he worried about her, was rendered jealous of NK giving her attention but before he could act upon it the terrace misunderstanding happened and he went into believing that she was a vixen trying to ruin his sister's life.
Khushi on the other hand was pleasantly surprised with his change of behaviour but was always on guard (experience is a big teacher) due to the possibility of a hot and cold act again which she saw when he brutally demanded she marry him without an explanation and left her to deal with the family's wrath.
Doors of feelings once opened are difficult to lock away.. which is why time and again during the contract wedding... Arnav found it difficult to deal with her tears when he hurt her deliberately. But then the sudden kidnapping track happened and on facing the possibility of death he confessed his love over a call. His absence and fear of losing him made her realized that she has failed to hate him despite all and her longing for him was actually love. (This is where the screw up for me sort of began)
Arnav was saved.. truth was told.. and the story moved!! Ever since we know they love each other and through the remarriage we have seen the love grow in trust, in expression, in fear of loosing each other!
But I still dont know what is it that made these two totally opposite characters fall in love with each other! Yes Arnav admires her selflessness, her passion to help other etc etc.. but so does NK! Those are admirable qualities one sees in a person.. but what about Khushi made him fall head over heels in love with her and share his deep dark fears and secrets with her?
And Khushi... she understands him, his anger, his non conformity, respects his need for space but he is still Laad Governor.. the guy she once hated.. the one who put her through hell...what made her fall in love with him? A love so deep that she stands up against her family for him when he make fun, a love so true that her faith in him never wavered once that he will keep his promise?
