Just came back from seeing this movie. Beautiful. Couldn't have been a better comeback for Sridevi and you can easily relate to her character. First half seemed a little slow but I loved the way the movie picked up in second half! Loved the ending and the kid who is playing her son is really adorable. The movie was predictable in a way but still one would lose out on missing it. I loved the execution of the story and her final speech...just BEAUTIFUL. Would totally recommend it! 4/5

PS: Not detailed because now I have to go and do homework But I would think that procrastinating was worth it for this movie 😉😃

OMG! just saw it and LOVED every single second of it. SriDevi puts our current actresses to shame. No joke. This woman is gorgeous and her acting even better. Her chacter reminded me of my mom, aunt, every single desi aunty that struggles with enlgish yet still gets by. I went home and hugged my mom and thanked her lol. THe French guy was HOT and i loved how Sri would speak hindi n he would speak french. Its hard to explain but its a feel good movie and i recommend everyone to watch it PLEASE

Friday - 4,45,000

Saturday - 10,45,000

Sunday - 16,25,000

Total - 31,15,000

Sunday - 23,70,000

Total - 47,30,000

Business at Multiplexes was expected... from the overwhelmingly positive tweets on twitter.

Single screen business has really come as a pleasant surprise.A film which has 30% spoken english with absolutely nothing to lure in the masses has been received so warmly by the janta

Taran rightly puts it..power of good cinema.👍🏼

English Vinglish Picks Up Over Weekend

English Vinglish like last week's OMG! Oh My God picked up on Saturday and Sunday and collected 12.25 crore nett over the weekend. Friday was 2.25 crore nett, Saturday around 4.50 crore nett and Sunday will be about 5.50 crore nett.

The weekend total is just about fair but the fantastic Saturday growth gives hope of good long term business especially over the weekdays. The weekend is not much lower than Kahaani which grossed around 13.50 crore nett over three days and then went on to put up a very good lifetime total.

The film has done its best business in Mumbai and South with Mysore actually recording good overall collections for the weekend. The mass belts showed good growth but as it was from very low levels the overall collections also remained low.

^^^I think this is great business for a film like English Vinglish. Compare it to Dangerous Ishq which was another comeback attempt and it collected about 6 cr lifetime.
